Have ladies ever tried to use you as a full grown Ken doll?

This seems like a good place to ask this question.

We're all here because we take some degree of pride in fashion or style. That seperates us from the majority of American men (or maybe men in general in all the world). Many women also take pride in their appearance or style, and growing up are encouraged by social norms to play with dolls and play dress-up and all that stuff.

So, have you ever felt like a woman was dating you largely as a fashion accessory? A sort of "oh, make sure you wear this outfit or that one; it will look great against my white slacks, purple blouse, white shoes, etc etc etc." It seems like somewhere there is a line between both having an interest in fashion and style, and merely being an accessory to someone else's sense of fashion and style.

nope, can't say I've handed my balls over to my SO

Can't say a woman has ever done that to me.

Closest is one girl that looked at my shirts, jackets, and my favorite ties and said with a look of horror, "well, the good news is that I can help you shop for clothes from now on."

I was pretty pissed off about that.

Sounds like you've got a live one. Asking you to wear a particular suit or outfit is fine, IMO, as long as it doesn't clash with your own tastes. She should be seen, you should be unobtrusive.

Suggesting that I match tie and PS or pick up some Kenneth Cole square toes - that's a different kettle of fish. At that point, drop a little knowledge so she knows that you have thought it through.

If that fails, invite her to go through your closet with you, try on a few pieces, and when between states of dress, entertain her in other ways. After, you can explain that messing with how you dress can only get her . . .

No. I can dress myself just fine, and it is okay for her to point out things that she feels would look good on me. But there is no way I would ever change something I was wearing because she was ashamed to go out with me if I wore it.

Was thinking the title would be more literal and in a bedroom context. Sounds like it could be fun.

You realize a ken doll has no pee pee? Sounds like not a lot of fun.

I was thinking the same thing initially. She could put on a blonde wig and I could wear nude colored briefs... Seriously though, the only time she has a problem is when I wear something too similar to what she's wearing. We don't want to be all matchy matchy.

Next time you guys are shopping at Saks, Holtz (Canada), wherever... Take a look around... It's comical to see some of the altercations take place... Some (MOST) men are absolutely whipped by their 'personal shopper'. I feel ill.

No, but one girl did pick up wearing western shirts (girly style) and that kind of stuff from me.
