I think for the average guy who does not have to dress up everyday, that a couple of suits in navy and charcoal are all that you really ever need.

After less than a year of buying, I think I'm at the point where I might buy one or two shirts this FW and then I'm done. I really don't need anything more in my closet. It's not that I have a ton of clothes, but enough, and they're pretty much all nice pieces, IMO (EG, MFSC, KMW, NdG, etc). You're right about suits, robin. I have one 'nice' charcoal suit (BR Monogram) that I'm lucky if I wear more than once each year. It's plenty.

1 piece of outerwear. Either a ToJ varsity or a heavy wool coat of some sort. Maybe a duffle.
1-2 pair of jeans. Possibly flannel-lined if I can find something that looks cool.
A pair of boots to replace my GTs which I will be selling shortly. Probably LL Bean Katahdins unless I find something else cheap.
Turtleneck sweater if I can find one that's super badass.
A few pairs of chinos and/or corduroys.
A few flannels.

I saw that EXACT LL Bean sweater (the crewneck) at my local Goodwill yesterday for $5. I'm assuming it was an original.

-Gloves. Probably leather or wool.
-Danner Mountain Light ll(If I get the money)

-Carhartt Duck Coat in black
C03-BLK.jpg

-Pointer Chore Coat
-Lots of wool socks, cheap sweaters, and henleys

I'll probably get the moccasins and chore coat sometime this summer but it is still a fw purchase.

- Already bought one EG jacket, might get another
- Trying to find a decent puffer vest that is complementary to said jacket
- WWM field pants
- WvG shirt
- Some pair of lightweight, casual brown leather shoes or boots, would like to avoid boat shoe-inspired. Suggestions?

W + H Thermal henley and either the box-rib shawl cardigan or the diamond knit cardigan

boots: either a pair of aldens or the tricker's stow, I really want a brogued boot if anyone has any other suggestions

couple of oxfords

new jacket/coat, maybe the chambray field jacket from W + H or maybe a Krane piece, I need something waterproof because it rains a shitload here, so the chambray from W+H might be out then.

new jeans, probably the Naked and Famous either wierd guy or slim guy.

I think the size I need will be too short for my gangling frame.

6' (though xs is only sizing down one, which is what Adam did). Rakuten says it's 61 cm long.

That does sound short, sorry to hear it is such a good piece.

Already have this taken care of through a pair of Grenson Jacksons but I suppose a pair of combat boots would still be a good addition; won't cop unless I find them on deep discount or ebay though.

Other desires that have arisen since this last post:

A black (or dark grey) wool outerwear piece for the winter.
A fall coat. I'm leaning towards a TOJ varsity for this.
TaT suit.
A black blazer.
Black denim. Probably going for the APC NS.

Definitely: Filson Alaskan Guide Shirt
Definitely: Filson Shelter Cloth Shirt
Definitely: SoH Lined Wool Vest
Maybe: Filson Original Wool Shirt (the price point is steep for the warmth, imo)

Probably Katahdin's or another boot, my Merrell's are wearing out. And lots of heavyweight wool socks. No more cold feet this winter. And likely a new coat, I don't really have the money for anything designer so I don't know where I'm going to go.
