Well? Who's possibly in and who's possibly out? Where would tentative locations be? Dates and times to cancel or possibly postpone?

Criteria:
- Anywhere with a roof top.
- Anywhere with nice cocktails
- Somewhere with women/ladies with short skirts/dresses/shorts. Maybe

Winning Venue: Marvin, 2007 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC (U Street Metro)
Date and Time: Wednesday, June 24, 2009. 6PM

Possibilities:
- I like, tentatively, anywhere with a roof top.
- Also, I like, maybe if I can make it, anywhere with nice summer cocktails
- Finally, if it's not too much, if I'm not working late, somewhere with women/ladies with short skirts/dresses/shorts.

So, you're saying somewhere in Georgetown.

I'm reliably in for after-work drinks in DC.

Marvin and Local 16 have alright decks and good beers, at least.
I would appreciate any place that makes a good dark'n'stormy.
Being eternally taken, I am not a reliable talent scout.

(I generally prefer not Georgetown, for metro accessibility reasons)

Ok, Georgetown is reliably out of the picture. I wasn't really considering it anyway.

Nice to see you're in Pete. Now to get others...

I like Local 16, but I find I've been frequenting it too often. Let's stick that lower on the totem pole. I haven't done Marvin. Does it have a roof or porch? Outdoor drinking is a necessity.

In the words of Duke Ellington "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," but there a few roofs on U Street/Adams Morgan (Solly's, Marvin, the new spot at 9th and U, the Reef). I haven't been to the last two and I don't know that they provide the sort of ambiance we're looking for. There's Lauriol Plaza, but that's a bit of a zoo on a nice night.

Helix (15th and Rhode Island Ave) has an outdoor lounge, Hotel Monaco has a outdoor garden, and another Kimpton property Hotel George (near Union Station) has a rooftop bar.

I'm a big fan of the reef. Actually frequent there quite often (this time with pride).

I just checked, and it seems Marvin has roof seating. I think it could be a great choice for after-work drinks midweek. Any other suggestions? I hear Beacon in Dupont is pretty nice.

Ok, I have settled on Marvin in U Street as the location. Date is another issue. Time should definately be after work. Since Marvin gets pretty crowded in the evenings we should aim for early in the week (Monday - Wednesday) about 5:30-6pm.

marvin is pretty nice on a weekday or sunday night, friday-saturday good luck fighting through the bridge and tunnel crowd to get a drink at the bar. nearby is the gibson, but depending on the party size and the fact that it will most likely be all males hanging out our chances of getting a table there are slim.

Ok Teger, most likely tuesday or wednesday. However, to get some of our B'more friends involved, is there general opposition to an early Saturday evening meetup? That way, we could meet up enroute to our real saturday night plans(for those of us with lives outside of SF).

I could go for that, although June is pretty busy for me.

Not that my presence makes or breaks an SF meet up, but I am much less likely to show up on a Saturday.
