Greylock is no Whitney, but still a nice hike. I really like the AT through Western Mass. A bit further on, the Adirondacks have some straight-up-and-down type stuff, especially around Mt Marcy. Again, nothing above 14k (or even 6k) but still good exercise and amazing views. Go north and you're what, three hours from the Whites?

anywhere that has terrain relief right now, instead of being at my desk, about 5 feet above sea level. There isn't even a camel in sight.
