Four Horsemen: Official Affiliate thread - Page 42

want to pick up one of the button up cardigans - torn between the denim blue and the moss green - anyone see them in person? the color is hard to tell in pics. moss green looks really bright on some of the pics on the site, but "moss" is usually dark. denim blue looks more grey to me.

at any rate, what say you SF? denim blue or moss green?

both are great colors. guy posted a fit of his moss green a while back:

It's funny you should ask. We've actually been reworking our Service Boot and adding a couple of new features, one of which is a full Dainite sole. The sample is in and we should be posting it soon. The materials are the same, but there are a couple of small cosmetic tweaks that will be unique to us.

Just got my Vibergs. Wearing them now. This is my first pair. Initial reactions - excellent boots, and the profile is awesome - I have no idea why anyone would not like the 2030 last. I got a pair of size 10, which are probably 1/4-1/2 size large. I think that I'll go for the 9.5 next time, but meh - I hate small shoes, and shoes that are slightly large don't bother me. I'd say that these are probably a 1/2 size smaller than the Tricker's 4444 last, for anyone familiar, with the warning that they have a considerably narrower toe (not that that's too hard) and that the toe box tapers down quite a bit. Now that I think about it, maybe this was the right choice after all. Must smaller, and I've have that claustrophobic "my toes are completely immobile!" feeling.

The workmanship is really nice, as is the nubuck. These are supplanting my old Menichetti "mushroom" nubuck boots. Some people hate the Moreflex wedge sole, and in many cases, I agree, but here, the contrast in color really works well, and the height of the boot really balances it. Also, the taper in the sole mirrors that of the upper, which emphasizes the "sleek" look of the boot - which is funny, because this boot is pretty hefty. With a crepe sole, this boot would weigh 10 pounds. All in all, a really nice job, Guy and co..

Hey LA Guy,

Would you happen to have a pair of Alden's to compare the Viberg's to, size wise?

Nice!--any hints on the cosmetic changes? Will it have a leather liner?

This is something I'm also interested in. Usually I'm a wide TTS or go half a size up in the wider Alden lasts (Barrie, Trubalance), but I've fit in just fine with the Crockett and Jones 325 last--will I have a problem with the 2030?

Site was still a little buggy last night, but there's some good stuff on there.

There's no affiliate code for them, right?

Any word on when the service boot collab will have the new Dainite soles? About ready to place an order, just waiting on some sizing info from Viberg.

So has anyone here bought one of this year's handknit cardigans?

So I bought a cardigan from them, got an order confirmation, but never got a shipping confirmation. I emailed them 6 days after placing the order, asking if they ever shipped it. It's been three days with no answer—and their webstore has been down for a couple of days now. Anyone know what's going on with them?

Same happened to me, ordered a pair of Viberg shoes which were make to order.

It has been 3 months now -- no replies, but I assume the guy is busy...

Supposed to be six weeks, right? Did you try calling?

Just talked to them on the phone. The guy who's in charge of the webstore has been in Berlin doing an event with Viberg for the last 8 days. My sweater was sitting in a box in the store waiting to be shipped. They upped my shipping to express for free and promised to get it in the mail today. He said he had a backlog of hundreds of emails and 30-odd packages, so if anyone ordered anything in the last 10 days or so, be aware.

Cool, hopefully he'll post here about the Viberg collab boot and the new changes.

Sorry we've been MIA for the last week. I was away in Berlin for Bread & Butter and of course the webshop happened to crash at the same time, so things are a bit hectic right now. If you are waiting on a response or anything from us i assure you we will get to it within the next day or two. My apologies for the delay. We appreciate your patience.

The buffalo leather on the service boot is too thick for a liner, but we've added a custom heel pull, a couple extra eyelets and some of the stitching has changed. Otherwise it's essentially the same boot.

No code at the moment. We run pretty regular promotions though and we will be knocking sales goods down again as soon as the shop is back up.

The wait for a pair of Vibergs has gone up to about 12-16 weeks on the conservative side. I think we'll cut off the made to order service anyways. Nobody seems to be understanding of the fact that they are getting custom footwear made by a company that produces less than 30 pairs in a day. We can't make these things go any faster and as nice it is to be able to offer MTO, it's not really worth the customer service headache that comes along with it. Going forward we will be producing small runs and that is all that will be available.
