There must be several "levels" of invites going around.

They also had some Gieves & Hawkes RTW which I think were made by Hickey Freeman. $400, but only half canvas.

I picked up a RTW Gieves & Hakes sport jacket last year for under $200 at C21. Really nice jacket, seems to be of decent construction also.

The SAKS sale has started on 5th avenue which is earlier than the mailer said it would. Usual sort of thing on sale at about 30% off. I bought a pair of EG shoes although I probably would have been better off waiting for the EG sale at least this way I get my hands on them immediately and can try them on. They seem to have a couple of EG in most sizes with a lot of Southwold on a 888 last in burnt pine.

Did they come with trees? Was it 30% off of $850?

The Saks sale has started, but still no one has heard about Bergdorf Goodman? Perhaps I should give them a call...

Zack,
No shoe trees. Sizing was sparse for the little people. The Southold was definitely the best of the lot, with the monkstrap boot (Olney??) in dark oak on the 606 in 7.5 and 8.5 US. There was a nice double monk in the larger sizes, and a pebble grain captoe in a size 7. Prices werent that attractive--about $750 after tax. Most EG at Sak's retail fround 1k rather than the $850 at the Polo mansion and Asprey (former stockist).

These shoes have been around at Saks for a while and as of a few months ago were marked up from $850 to $950, the boots and Dovers went from $950to $1050. The Southwolds are quite nice and clearly the pick of the lot.

I'm going to wait for the next round of reductions. Last year I was able to Cadogans in chestnut on the 202 from Skas for $350. Be patient and furtherr eductions will certainly come.

Yeah I saw the EGs on the 9.5 rack today @ $711+ tax. Shirt rack had HK for ~160 and Borelli ~280. The Borelli was really nice but too rich for my blood.

Was at Saks today and they have a few nice sportcoats and such on sale. Do any of you like David Chu's things. I am not that familiar with him, but his jackets were nice and had some interesting details. Anyway, things were going fast not too much left in my size, which is 38R. Such was definately the case at Bergdorf's too. I couldn't find a single sportscoat I liked in 38 even though offically their sale doesn't start until Thursday. Slim pickings unless they are planning to roll out some hidden inventory.

David Chu is the founder and original designer of Nautica. After he was pushed out he started his own label.

Ah, thanks for that. The name sounded familiar, but I failed to make the connection.

I don't have the exact details but the To Boot sale starts June 2 and runs to the 4th. It is in the far west village on Washington street in the 600's. I have been several times and it has a lot more than To Boot. It seems that Bergdorf just gives any left over shoes to the sale.
