530 7th Ave between 38th & 39th

I think it was the 29th floor, but it should say exactly which floor in the elevator.

If you're a slim fit - forget about it.

I was trying to pick up some accessories but that was somewhat fruitless as well.

No decent ties? I saw a picture from the sale and it looked like they were just thrown all over the place. What other accessories might they have?

Some ties in the damaged box (I recall a purple polka dot), some grenadines (again, I recall a solid purple).

Scarves (only one left that I saw was the Brown schoolboy), belts (I saw some size 30s and size 36+), headwear (various, didn't check them out), no gloves.

A Very Special Rug Sale & Show This Saturday

As Featured in Vogue & National Geographic Traveler

Hamza Yidiz (from Istanbul) Rug Sale & Show
Where: 111 Grand Street - Brooklyn (Williamsburg)
When: THIS SATURDAY - December 1st - 5pm to 7pm

I'm posting this because I met this guy and visited his store in Istanbul this past summer. I bought two rugs there (and shipped them to NYC) and love them both. A few days before I was in the store he sold 5 rugs ($$$$) to a guy on the Upper East side. Unfortunately I'm not getting a discount or anything for posting this, but wanted to pass along this info because it's the type of stuff I like to find on "styleforum". I spent a ton of time searching for a nice rug in NYC... and finally found exactly what I wanted when I visited his shop in Istanbul.

These guys are the "real deal". They source from Persia/Iraq, Turkey, and Turkmenistan. The only way you can get a better deal is if you speak Turkish or Arabic and travel to the remote villages in which these rugs are made. They are a supplier to ABC carpets on Broadway. So you can buy his stuff there, or you can buy from him directly and save some serious $$$.

You can see some examples on their website:
http://www.seeingisdreaming.com/index.html

Tons of information about rugs on another site they have:
http://www.noahsarkcarpetskilims.com/

If you are in the market for a rug, I highly recommend you don't miss this chance. And if you just like seeing nice things and happen to be in the area, you should wander in.

Barneys @ woodbury is pretty damn cheap if you can find stuff you like. Denim was 60% off lowest marked price(which was 50 or 60 off the original price). Bunch of accessories and slim selection of shoes(larger sizes mainly) at 60% off also.

I think they had these http://www.barneys.com/Endless-Lace-Up-Boot/501946936,default,pd.html?q=endless&index=0 in size 11 or higher, would have been really damn cheap.

Anyone heading to the Soiffer Haskin Polo sale this weekend? If so, please let me know if they have any suede tassel loafers in large sizes (12-13)!

If you want shoes, I suggest you go tomorrow morning as soon as they open. I have yet to see a sample sale where quality shoes last past day 1 (which is actually Friday).

Cross-posted from the Psa thread. No shoes - I specifically asked at the register. They never got any.

"I also stopped by the Ralph Lauren sale at soiffer haskin this afternoon. There was some nice stuff - lots of RRL tailored clothing. A few nice eight piece pie caps made from Harris tweed. And some nice RLPL stuff - cashmere sweaters, dress shirts, ties. Everything seemed to be about 65 percent off.

I was rushing to pick up a batch of ties that were ready for me down the street at tiecrafters, but did pick up an RLPL paisley tie. Looks awesome - I would say its ancient madder but that's what it looks like. Blues, reds, greens, browns with that rich but somewhat faded look. 90 percent cashmere. $70."

Anyone hit up boxing day sales yet?

Picked up a Krane jacket on their Boxing Day sale. Nomad is doing something too but can't get the links I want to work right.
