Manhattan Sales Alert!! - Page 306

Anyone going to go check this out?

http://ny.racked.com/archives/2012/11/06/housing_works_fashion_for_action_2.php

Last year they had tons of BBBF stuff, although the prices weren't blowaway. They did have Star Wars pocket squares though, which I was really sad I didn't buy.

I did really well at the HFsale. I picked up two cashmere sweaters, a suede perforated sportcoat, and a storm system coat-all for under $300. There were no further reductions as of 8am this morning.

A little late, but I stopped by Housing Works in Chelsea - still have a low of Brooks Brothers Black Fleece stuff in.

The shoes and boots were $75 a pop, but all the good stuff seems to be gone (a ton of C&J pebble boots hit ebay recently).

There are still a lot of gray suits, outerwear, women's wear available. Suits were in the $550 range and all merch. was an additional 40% off today.

I did. decent selection in size 50 suits and jackets. No overcoats. Some outerwear type jackets. Not too many shoes and nothing I was interested in. Did not look at shirts or pants. Suits are 900 or 1000; outerwear 450; ties 100 and I don't remember the rest

I have bought in the past at these sales with no regrets, but you can prob do better in terms of price on this forum or even at outlets stores when they have sales

Was there a good selection of sportcoats in EU52? I'm planning to stop in for a peek before 7pm today.

There seemed to be more in larger sizes. 50EU + up. Same goes for shirts, sweaters and trousers. Not much in 38, 39, 40 in shirts, 38 in trousers, small or medium in knits.

I'm a 48EU and there wasn't much. I did manage to snag a couple of suits and a sports coat, so there is even less in the 48EU department now. I also bought one of only 2 pairs of 38EU trousers, a couple of the three or so 40EU shirts, and one cashmere sweater out of maybe four medium knits.

Not much in the tie department. Some printed wool ties and a few 7-folds. I got one nice paisley.

Lots of shorter topcoats. Racks and racks of dark suits. And three or so racks of the diffusion line.

Suits are $895 and $995. Sports coats are $575. Ties are $65. Sweaters $100. Trousers are $150. I didn't buy an overcoat.

Not bad, but not sure worth going out of the way for either.

Don't sleep on the boots at the Isaia sale. I got a pair of great shearling-lined Norwegian welt suede boots for $200. Very happy with the value on these.
