Walked through last night - there were 14 on the rack, 1/2 of them 38, the rest 42(44?) and up. Noticed a couple mixed in the regular suits, also marked down. They're a motley mix of, for the most part, not-particularly attractive stripes, and a nice glenplaid...
Was there this afternoon and would second this verdict. Not the most attractive fabrics. A couple of 44s, more in 38 and down. They've got a load of navy DB Zegnas in a range of sizes for 750 too.
I finally got around to do some sale shopping today. Malo was a complete bust. Very little stock hit the 90% off price point. I would have been much more inclined to open my wallet if the savings hit the 85% off mark. Proably four solid tables worth of merchandise remaining when I left.
Turnbull & Asser was a winner with regards to sales prices. Shirts @ $109 were not that attractive, but if you have stubby legs like mine (trousers with 31.5" inseams) were discounted to $75. There was an especially nice brown houndstooth that I wanted... Ties are also a good value at $30, and the remaining Chester Barrie suits are a steal at $700. I expect 42s and 44s to have the best luck.
Jackets were either $500-600. I cant remember offhand. They were in larger sizes so I didnt really inquire. I was really lusting after a brown houndstooth, but it was definitely made for a bigger dude.
BTW, Seok, I stopped by that Rifelssi place last weekend. The salesmen were like sharks and tried to sell me a damaged Kiton suit from Stanley Korshak for $650. It was nice and the discount was substantial, but I really dont want to deal with a reweaver before it leaves the store...
Strolled into Paul Stuart this afternoon for their sale. Decent selection. In typical PS style, having 50 salespeople hovering is and will continue to be turn off.
Between the two extremes of "customer service" I would rather be completely ignored at T&A than deal with the swarms at Paul Stuart.
