The sale is at:
Metropolitan North Pavilion
110 West 19th Street (between 6th & 7th Ave)
New York

The postcard I received said the sale starts Wed 3/15 at 9:00am.

I went to a Ralph Lauren lamp sale a few years back which was fantastic. We bought 6 lamps for the price of one lamp at retail. I only wish we had bought more, but at the time we were living in a one bedroom apt. in Brooklyn, without extra space to store extra lamps. I hope this sale is as good as that one.

If you need high end linen you should try the Pratesi sample sale at the Metropolitan Pavillion 123 W 18 St. It started yesterday and tomorrow is the last day.

Or more importantly, what do sheet sets cost at the sample sale? Even at 75% off, a $4k set of sheets is out of my price range.

Since these are the same people who origanized the Paul Stuart, Loro Piana & Asprey sales, and using past experiences as a guide I'd expect 90% off during the last day of the sale. So a $4k set would become $400, that's not too bad.

I am planning on go there tomorrow.

Nymetro.com says a king-sized sheet set is $665. That's almost a respectable pair of shoes.

I believe that's the first day price. The second day will be 85% off (the said set will become $399), the final day 90% off ($266), at least that's a combination of my wishful thinking and past experiences.

And your GF or a one-night-stander will be more impressed with a set of Pratesi than a pair of Lobb.

I bought a set of Frette sometime ago, and compare with those "600 count" I find at Bloomies, BB&B or C21, it's a day and night.

Not very exciting, but...

Filene's Union Square has a few decent shoes on the top floor including a pair of Zegna for $200 (middle line, I think, not Z Zegna or Napoli Couture) and Gravati for $250. They also had some casual Hickey Freeman coats for around 60% off retail, including a couple of short Storm System rain coats for $250.

DSW downstairs has some AE rubber soled cap toe bluchers for around $110. Leather was not so great, but would make a decent rainy day shoe.

Does anyone know when (or if) the semi-annual Colombo, Truzzi and Nicky sample sale will occur? I've moved and fell off their mailing list. Always one of my favorites.

If it's your GF, you don't have to impress, and by the time a ONS sees the bedding, you're in anyway. Better to spend the money on Lobbs.
