Picked up the Sheldon monk in tan, Benton in tan and beechnut and Langford in tan all at $160. Then the good shoe karma continued, went to the Rack to look at the back to school sale for the kids and found a Santoni Florence (Goodyear) for $149 and a pair of Mephisto Dieters for $41 (65% off of $119). Both pairs were, incredibly for the Rack, in perfect condition, the soles of the Santonis show no wear at all.

That's an awesome find. Those shoes retail for way more than that. They didn't happen to have a US10 in them did they? If they did and you can pick me up a pair, I'll reward you nicely.

Yes, I thot it was a pretty sweet deal, although I guess some people on the Forum aren't Santoni fans.

TR: Didn't see any other sizes, but only looked at 12 and 13, if we go back I'll check for you.

Gentlemen - congratulations

I sense a new wave of shoe porn postings in our near future...

Wish I'd been able to snag some EGs - I've yet to pop that cherry.

If anyone hears of a store with EGs in 10.5 for these prices, do drop me a pm!

Anyone know of sales from Aug 1st to 7th? That's when I'll be in town. Seize sale will be over, so I need other ideas.

Don't call Miami. The guy who answers is a dick and they don't have any dress shoes. Chevy Chase had a tassel loafer and a suede boot that only went about half an inch above the ankle in my size (9). No thanks. Dallas was very friendly and helpful, but had none of the C&J or EG shoes on sale. Houston said they weren't on sale: "But I had an e-mail that said until August 7th" "Oh, you had an e-mail? Let me check" thumb twiddling "Nope, sorry, we shipped them out to Manhasset. Only the Italian made shoes are here and they aren't on sale." Called Manhasset. All they have is a saddle shoe. This is not very fruitful...

So you guys have been sourcing RL stores all over the country, not just the Mansion?

Carter spectator, Parson in burnt pine and black in my size. And a pair Stern spectator for my friend who spotted my Whitaker spec during a wedding last summer and wanted some.

The Carter spec I got doesn't have the elaborated serpentine stitchings along the apron that I saw on the regular Carter or even the same spec I saw earlier in the season, just the simple straigt stitchings that looks like machine-stitched. But at $265 I ain't complaining.

I went to the Mansion and saw none of EG RLPL sale shoes you guys kept yapping about and I left empty-handed and disappointed. Then I called and blessed by the Shoe Fairy with an excellent SA who searched the whole Mansion for me and came up with the 4 pairs. So I guess it's just pure luck of the draw who picked up the phone.

+1

You really could call/visit 10 times and get 10 different answers. Its kind of mind boggling, but they must be seriously disorganized in storage. This is across all stores, not just NYC.

I must was not meant to be in luck on this shoe sale. Walked all the way from the west side to the mansion yesterday in the rain, only to get there @ 6:01. The rude kid @ the door shut the door in my face and said it was closed. As I pleaded with him to just let me take 10 min to check out the shoes, he threatened to call the cops ....... what an asswhip, where is the shoe fairy when I needed him.........

I was told by a young guy there was "nothing left' and that the purple label had been shipped out weeks ago. I said I'd heard there were some left in size 13 (my size) and he said no this is all we have (one loafer, some slippers). I milled around, hoping he'd offer more service but finally left. Is it is super rude to ask someone else or forcefully ask them to check the stock room? Kind of disappointed after running there after work to get in 10 mins before close.......
