Google Wave - Page 2

Sure you need a "replay of a chat", thats why these threads are broken into numbered pages. If you can see how it works in a collaborative (work) effort and you can "see" how it would work for the internet proletariati. What else is there left to argue about?

What? I don't see the added value. Gmail stores all chats as well. I don't need to see letter-by-letter re-typing of messages replayed. That would actually be annoying.

That only you can see.

I see, shared chat logs. Well, I guess that's useful for tweeters...I guess. Average person = zero benefit. Of the 2,000 chats I've had in the last year, maybe 3 I would like to share with anybody. Cut + paste, send.

Understood, but its not interactive or invitational to anyone else. Widespread membership also allows people to make it realworld applicable through user feedback. I dont know if you have google wave but if you dont youre just imagining (or not) what the use would be, and if you do, chances are there are no waves to jump into anyway. Youre asking for a fleshed out wave to show it works. All I can say is as membership grows there will be one.

I'll wait for it then. I used it a few times with friends, but it turned into a big joke with all of us writing random shit in different parts of a document. EDIT: I fully foresee this becoming hugely popular, as well. I just don't see why. Kind of how I was with Twitter.

While Twitter is useless to me (I don't give a shit who is eating or pooping what at what moment), its popularity doesn't surprise me. If Google Wave becomes -- and stays -- popular, I will be surprised. I don't think it'll fail completely, but it sure won't replace email, as its creators have claimed.

If anyone's interested, I can invite a few people.

I'm guessing no. Because there is none.

Anyone familiar with Groove Networks should know that Wave will fail.

We've been using it in law school to plan parties and talk shit about football. I like it and hope it catches on.
