during weddign season in mumbia, you can see some of the coolest hena tatoos. I would often see women wearing backless dresses with their whole back and part of their arms and legs covered in very eleborate hena tatoos. very sexy.

A decent tux is probably $2k -- not Men's Wearhouse stuff. Morning dress $3k. But I could very easily spend $7-10k on a Huntsman bespoke suit. I don't think the cost matters -- anything can cost as much as the money is available.

I've never had the opportunity to attend an Indian wedding. A friend did go to an Indian wedding last year. I think it's a five day event. The photos were amazing. Can any of you share some photos???

You'll be surprised with the price difference. Oh, and lastly, kiss ******. I didnt originally make this thread to talk crap to anyone, but seems like i have a taker who wants to get bashed, so im running with it.

Dont confuse price with taste.

Anyway, I attended a barat( the actual traditional wedding vows between the bride and groom) this morning and it was a sight. Half Indian/ half British groom marrying a Guyanese girl. lol the Guyanese women were wearing almost nothing while the Indian girls were wearing too much. Both sides looked very pretty nonetheless. The Indian men were wearing shehrwanis, but they were virtually the same because the Brits shopped for them together. Anyway, all in all the reception is tonight as well. As I stated earlier, it is a common to see the wedding and the reception happen on the same day. However, there is a mendhi the night before and a women's gathering the night before, known as lady's sangeet. its like a bachelorette party. There was so much drinking at the reception... well for the time I was there.

I have only been to one. It was very elaborate and we were there for about 10 hours between the ceremony, which lasted about 4 hours, and the reception, which we left after 6 hours but most of the attendees were still going strong. During the ceremony, it is true a lot of people were talking during the marriage vows, etc., but mainly because there were so many people, we were so far back you couldn't hear anything and could barely see the couple. Apparently, an all night party is typical, even multi-days in some cases. There were also about 800 guests at the wedding, so I imagine it was quite expensive...
