I heard it also varies between races, with some (e.g. Asians) having less of a risk of developing bitch tits from soy than others.

Because of this thread, I'm going to go make some right now. I always just nuke them, anyone have a better way of cooking them? Boil maybe? Oh, and I've been seriously thinking about buying some land with the goal of turning it into a soy bean farm. No lie, I have my USDA research sitting on my desk right now.

Fermented soy beans do not have the phytoestrogens that unfermented do. So soy sauce and some other stuff has little or no phytoestrogens, but the rest do. http://www.dietaryfiberfood.com/phytoestrogen.php

Interesting, now I have to look into this more. I know about the fermented, but I thought there was something about unprocessed soy that prevented absorption of phytoestrogens as opposed to say soymilk.

But eating edamame like once every two weeks can't be that bad. I hope.

No, but the usual Chinese and Filipino diet makes us high-risk for gout.

Don`t worry about it. There aren`t THAT many men with boobs in Japan and they eat various forms of soy everyday. If there is anything to worry about, you should worry about fat, as it seems the average American these days have boobs bigger than even Japanese women who also eat a lot of soy.
