Cigarettes - Page 22

^^^ This.

Though I have since quit smoking cigarettes (due mainly to the expense and the annoying habit of hiccuping every time I would light up), I still am happy to indulge in nasal snuff and pipe tobacco.

The anti-tobacco rhetoric is ridiculous. The chemical additives and fillers, as well as the government-mandated anti-burn treatments have as much to do with cancer as the tobacco itself.

Why is is that Japan has a higher smoking rate, but a lower cancer rate?

I enjoyed every cigarette I ever smoked. I loved inhaling, blowing smoke, lighting them, having something in my hand, the taste after a good meal...

I gave them up because I just didn't want to be a sick, weak old guy one day. But sometimes I get that urge to smoke again because I really enjoyed it.

One day we were playing the game, "What would you do if you knew it was your last day on earth". My MIL said "Go buy a pack of cigarettes!"

Agreed; I'm not an everyday smoker. Some weeks I'll smoke a few everyday, since it has been cold though, I haven't had any, and I feel fine. Really love smoking on long drives. One in the morning with a cup of coffee or green tea is blissful.

Always just Marlboro Red 100's, they're just about perfect (and a hell of a lot cheaper than shit like Nat Sherman or Dunhill)

I got a cigarette rolling box and a bag of american spirit perique. given how often I smoke, i'm set for a while. The rolling machines roll some really nice cigarettes once you figure out how to pack them right and I'm using 70mm papers + filter. Especially with perique, I usually don't finish a cigarette because it's rather strong, but then I feel bad about wasting it especially at $10-12 a pack. $13 for 40g which is like 50+ cigarettes, $2 for a bag of filters, $5 for a different types of papers, $5 for the roller comes out to 2 packs and some. And I'm beating the insane cigarette taxes Also, it's weird how I don't have and never have had nicotine cravings. I feel like a smoke because I want to so I do, but I've gone months not smoking and been fine and months smoking daily and been fine. Then again, I go months without coffee too...

Anyone tried Ramback Balkan or Turkish blend? Apparently it's the closest one can get to the legendary Balkan Sobranie.

Feedback would be appreciated.

if people want to smoke, knock yourself out. i don't smoke cigs, but i do not agree with the smoking bans for restaraunts and bars. if you don't want to smell smoke, don't go to those places. find a non-smoking place.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread... and I hope this doesn't just create more drama... but this is a question about cigarettes as they relate to style:

Do "preppy" guys smoke, and if so, what brand? Specifically wondering about the kind of guys depicted here:

http://www.unabashedlyprep.com/site/damned-dapper/

TIA.

The only reason I care about smoking at all is because it contributes to medical costs getting higher which affects me, a non-smoker.

Personally I don't care if someone chooses to accelerate their own death as long as they pay for the whole process ...

I am currently in Vienna for a month, and was wondering if any of you had any reccomendations of cigarettes to try while here. I was all excited to get here and try Galouises, but the blondes (full-flavor, blue box) dissapointed me. I think I will get some Brunes tomorrow when the store is open (the unfiltered variety). Anything else that they don't have in America? Besides the flavored nonsense. Also, where can I find Nat Shermans or Dunhill? I have never seen them anywhere but the internet. Duty free shops in Heathrow?
