I like how people turn so vitriolic against smoking and the concept of second hand smoke. The idea of sidestream, secondhand, or remote smoke is total bunk. Yes, it might make someone with asthma, emphysema, etc... cough but honestly secondhand smoke is not going to give anyone cancer, nor will it give them asthma (unless they are consistently exposed to it for a long period of time).
I'm in college, I like to smoke... It is my one vice. I don't drink, don't smoke pot, nor do I indulge in other drugs. So, seeing as smoking is my one real vice, I have gotten to be sort of a connosieur. I used to smoke a pack of either camel nonfilter or lucky strike nonfilter a day. I now roll my own. Occaisionally though, I'll buy a pack of something a little different. English ovals are my all time faves, I like John Player Navy Cut, Chesterfield, Pall Mall (for when I am really feeling Kurt Vonnegut-ey), and every once in a while I smoke a pipe.
Being in college there are any number of anti-smoker-activist-wannabes who are more than willing to expound their personal philosophies to anyone holding the dreaded "death stick". Some kid was walking by me and started doing the obnoxious fake cough that hardcore anti-smoker people do to try and embarass smokers. I wheeled around and shouted, "Wow, that sounds like a nasty cough. Maybe you should get the dick blocking your windpipe removed."
With any luck, his day was ruined. Hopefully his life as well.
