I've only seen the cotton Newport pants at Lane Crawford (IFC Mall) in Hong Kong - they had it in both the brushed black cotton and khaki brushed cotton...beautiful in person and fits great. (I picked up the black).

Lane Crawford is at 50% off sale now, so it might be worth giving them a call since they do ship internationally - you might have to describe the style to the sales staff though, but their English is pretty good, so you won't have a problem getting lost in translation.

They also had the cotton Fatigue pants -- I didn't see any wool ones though, so might have sold out.

For those who bought EG pants from FW09 with those drawstrings, what were your experiences getting them hemmed? Did your tailor just cut off the extra cloth and then resew the original hem onto the new one? Or did your tailor recreate those drawstring eyes (where the string pulls through) from scratch with the new hem?

Went to Bloomingdales in SOHO yesterday. They finally have there 70% off sale on the remaining EG stuff. They still have sizes in brown corduroy pants and red line denim. Also some other stuff but not a lot of sizes. Last week they still had a single gray HB Newport jacket that I really wanted. Some one lucky must have snapped it over the weekend- for 70% off i guess.

^^^Wish it were my size: From Gary's showcase at the local fashion week in 2008:

Is it jersey? Cotton/poly? Made in Canada?
It's from FW06, so it was probably made in USA. And IIRC it's recycled cotton or wool. You'll have to get that info from Gary.
