The Andover is in between the baker and the bedford fit vice. But for me it is a casual jacket. Great with jeans and a shirt. I have both the plaid and the beige Andover and i have worn booth a whole lot. I'm actually considiring the F/W Andover since it's a classic for me.
My conclusion is; you can go either way, if you get the Andover, Bedford or Baker you will get a really good jacket. All of them are easy to combine and will get lots of wear for sure. If i were you i would think of which colour is the best, what would fit your wardrobe the best.
For example, i have the Birdshooter in Olive, a really great jacket - however, the olive, for me is a more casual street look colour - if you know what i mean.
Conclusion: No matter which jacket you choose from EG, as long as the colour is right you will be very happy. For me it started with the Andover....

OK, guess I'll go with the XS Andover in grey wool then, otherwise I'll go for the XS Bedford in grey wool, thanks again.

btw-anybody seen the wool poncho irl?

BTW, 4 pocket cardis fit pretty much like last year's. The weave on this season's I like a lot better. Bloomie's also had the Argyle Bedford, Olive USN Pants, Charcoal Newport Jacket, and a couple of others things I can't recall.

timpo, did you try on the newport? if so, how did it compare in size to the navy wool one, which i assume you must have tried on at AMRAG?

^^^The Wool HB Newport didn't keep it's shape as well as the Serge version. Other than that the shoulders and body seemed to fit the same.

I've seen lots of pics of the poncho already, so not really asking for pics, I really like last years all black one, not to keen on the bi-colored wool, although the grey/black is the best out of the 3 ones available, but the all black kills,,,,,, Anyway, if it is you in the pics, I'm more interested in what you think about it, does it work for you? can you blend it in easily with your outfits? is it a pain in the ass to put on or take off? do you bother closing the sides below the arms? how warm is it really? does much wind get in, or through, it? you know, that kind of info and thanks again...... btw- I'm assuming that's the long one but please correct me if I'm wrong.
