St. Ives is very harsh for your face.. yes it feels good, and your skin looks nice and "buffed out" after using it, but it actually causes damage. Find an exfoiliant you like with synthetic beads instead of ground up nut shells or whatever it is in that St Ives stuff

Interesing (link?) not that I read women's magazine/blogs often, but it seems everyone I pick up lists that st ives stuff the best budget whatever.

What about epsom salt and olive oil?
I just read a big article about how great salt is for your skin.

I agree with the guys who say keep it simple and stay away from the abrasive and irritating stuff. Use a gentle antibacterial bar a couple times a day, some salicylic acid, and a light moisturizer (none of these have to be high end brands, either) and eat well, and that should help.

Instead of using a face scrub daily, opt for one of those 2 in 1 deep cleaning face washes that small rounded particles in them. This is what I use in the evening to deep cleanse my face. I used to use a astringent but found out that a deep cleansing wash to be better and less drying.

Try mixing some baking soda with your favorite face wash. It's cheap, and a lot gentler than the St. Ives.

I put a little baking soda in my clinque face wash once a week, works great at removing dead skin and gives my face a very clean feeling, cant scrub you face like your washing a pot, I just add it and wash as normal.
