My other favorite band aside from The Fall. "Nonalignment Pact" and "Ubu Dance Party" are minor masterpieces.

Yes. You missed it. Now all that's left are some knocked over bottles and dreaming bodies.

Final Solution and 30 Seconds Over Tokyo are real toe tappers.

People seem to hate on the Mayo Thompson years, but those are the same people who hate on Zippy the Pinhead. Red Krayola forever!

As this seems to be turning into a Cleveland Rocks! thread, you all might be interested in Miriam Linna's (new) blog, Kicksville 66. She is the co-founder of Norton Records w/ her husband, Billy Miller, and was the original drummer for the Cramps. She was friends w/ Stiv Bators, and her oral history includes quite a bit of info about the early Ohio scene, including Pere Ubu. I will post a link when I can find it....

An ex girlfriend and I owned a clothing store called UBU and one year I dressed as Alfred Jarry for a Halloween party.

Big fan of the play and the band. There's also a great animated film of the play that's pretty rare. I saw it in someone's basement along with an early print of Fantasia where the centaurettes had nipples.
