Coppola's best film, probably the best performance Gene Hackman ever delivered. Epic.

+1.

Probably my #2 movie of all time. Like I told Conne last night, it has what is undoubtedly my favorite title sequence of all time.

Love this movie.

All the more impressive because it was made on a break between GF I & II.

"The Conversation" is a great movie. Let's hope nobody tries for a remake -- in these days of Internet-speak, it would probably be retitled "The Convo".

"omgzzorz hed kill us if he had the chance :-O"

I also love the trade show scene.

I would imagine most of it is/was true-to-life for forensic audio dudes. There's not actually a device that will let you filter out drum sounds like that, though.

Yeah. The final scene is quietly devastating. BTW, there has been a "sequel" in that Gene Hackman essentially reprised this role in Enemy of the State.
