also, i have a semi heart shaped face, whice style would be best for a good fit? i know i'd have to try them on, but as a general "style"

thanks!

Let me answer this in a few parts.

1. Wayfarers and Aviators are both starting to get old. Not that they are out of style, but not the leading edge. BUT they are more of a classic look, almost like have a pair (or 10) of Chucks.

2. Size. It shouldn't come out further than the width of your face. If it does, it will make you look like you have a small head. You want it to be large, but still proportional. Bigger is not always better. You ultimately make it look like you are wearing the sunglasses and not IT wearing you.

3. An easy way to choose eyewear: If you are round faced, pick square. If you are square faced, pick round frames. Just pick the opposite shape of your face for your eyewear. You want your eyewear to enhance your face shape. Its like wearing vertical stripes if youre short. Make your eyewear make you look better (not an insult, just a tip).

I have tried so so hard but i think the only way is if someone knows what or how to find them. Any information would be GREAT!!! The screen shot is from a movie call "twin town" (great movie by the way) The first time i saw them i had to have them..... just cant find them.

Hope someone has seen them before and can let me know what they are called so i can least find a pair similar if not the same.
Thanks.

I have no idea what those are. They look more like Goggles. You may have more luck in antique shops and so on. But if you are serious about it and willing to drop some money on it. Get it custom made.

Are they metal? Get a jeweler to make them.
Are they plastic? get a custom eyewear maker to make them. http://www.spectechsantamonica.com/customframe.html
Are they wood? http://www.urbanspectacles.com/
Are they leather? I dont know what they are called but you can have someome make the strap.

If you are willing to dish out $500-700 (cost of custom eyewear), someone will make them for you. They dont even seem that difficult to make.

Sorry I dont know who makes them though.... Hope this helps! Let us know if you ever find them or have them made!

I surf, longboard, mountain bike, etc.

Thanks for the tips. I'm buying them today.

Youll be really happy with them when youre on the beach or the shore and looking at the water without squinting, like your buddy who has non-polarized lenses. On the water there is nothing more you want than polarized lenses.

BUT be careful when riding your mountain bike with them in the rain. You WILL NOT see wet patches on logs and rocks because the glare will be cut out.

Happy riding!

I see you're in Toronto. Had a great time last year at Josephson's and wrote about it in the forum.

Josephson's is a great chain, to some. They carry mostly high end brands, which is great for those who can afford it. Their stores are all located in the affluent areas of the city.

The only problem I see with them is their pricing. It is not very competitive. But then again, who needs to be when you are selling a lifestyle. One would buy from them to say that they bought from Josephson's as opposed to Lens Crafters and so on. It's like buying from Saks as opposed to finding a little boutique just to say you bought it from there.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not bashing them. I have a friend who works at their flash ship location. But myself, I like to support the little guy, the under dog. I would rather take my money to the mom and pop place down the road (metaphorically speaking).

When you think about it, its not an outrageous price. I mean, that is about the same price as most high end brands. If you go to Lenscrafters, thats what you will pay for Prada with high index lenses. But...It would be cool to see some custom frames on SF.

I like your opinion of this; I am kind of sitting on my "classic" aviators until it becomes a little more rebelious. That being said, I also own the Oliver Peoples Aric and Ray Ban Cockpit (looks somewhat like Oliver Peoples Aero). Do these both fit into the aviator being out, or are they different enough from the "classic"?

Those are both slight variations from the classic aviator. Dont get me wrong, I have a few pairs of aviators, including 2 that I shaped myself into something a bit more unique. The problem is that every douche bag at the club as well as his buddy is wearing them. IMO once it starts going into the "club scene" it is played out and I know it is time to start on the next trend. Im not a trendy guy, I just dont want to look like a douche. If you wear them, wear them because they compliment your face and shape not because everyone else has one....
