Ask me about Eyewear! - Page 129

I'm doing a project for my entrepreneurship class right now and I chose high end eyewear as the focus of my store.

Does anybody know where I can find information about the prices of buying eyewear as a retailer? Many websites for eyewear designers do not list the prices of their frames.

I have a list of eyewear designers that I have selected so far.

Designer list (Click to show)

Alain Mikli
Anne et Valentin
AM eyewear
Dita
Ellery
Face Á Face
GRAZ eyewear
Harry Lary's
ic! berlin
Ksubi eyewear
L.A. Eyeworks
Lafont Paris
Linda Farrow (mostly collaborations)
Maison Martin Margiela
Moscot
Mykita
Oliver Goldsmith
Oliver Peoples
Paul Smith
Retro Super Future
Starck eyes

Sunblade
Theo
Thierry Lasry

I am not too concerned if some of the brands are not sold to retailers, since the project is only a simulation and if worse comes to worse I can guesstimate the numbers.

My main interest is selecting brands that have really interesting eyewear, the type of thing you would see in runway shows and not so much on the street.

If you have any more suggestions of designers/brands I should check out please let me know! thumbs-up.gif

I really like these frames from Tom Ford, but CC says the price doesn't match up to the quality. Can anyone recommend frames that are similar to this style and price range? These frames run from about 250-280. Thanks!

Hi CC,

Would love to know where I can pick up some glasses similar to this pair in style. Would love to get a pair from a brand you recommend on the first page. I live in Vancouver, not sure where would be a good place to go. This pair is O&X.

Thanks!

I have tried on a zillion different frames and the only one that seems to fit well or at least I think fits best is OLIVER PEOPLES DANNIE 46X 18. I tried ordering these over the internet but had a real bad experience with opticsfast.com. I cant find them here in Hong Kong so looking for an alternative with similar look and measurements. Any reccomendations ?

Thanks

Found them on Amazon. If they don't ship to HK you can find a US proxy.

That's a perfect excuse to go on a vacation where they do sell it! Sorry, I'm out of ideas as I don't know much about Indonesia's market.

The prices of those frames will vary from shop to shop, neighborhood to neighborhood, city to city, country to country and so on. Best thing would be just go to to some stockist and ask for a range for each of those companies suggested retails.

Well, this style is will available in a lot of different lines BUT this frame has the signature Tom Ford "T" on the side of the frame as a trim. Do you like the "T" or the shape?

If you like that style I would say to go with it. O&X has pretty well made frames and the prices are very reasonable for their prices. Most of the plastics are made of Italian acetate and made in Japan. In terms of where you could find it in Vancouver, I'm not 100% certain although most high-end retailers will have it because they will most likely carry the sister-line of Kio Yamato. The frames should be in the $200 range.

That frame is quite small. The only companies that I can think of off the top of my head that make frames that small would be Kame ManNen but I don't think they have that style. If you are open to ideas I would suggest to go to some smaller shops that have been around for a while, you may be able to find deadstock in that shape and size. That style was very popular in the 90s.

Sorry I couldn't be of much more help.

thanks! I`m gonna have to purchase one off their site since the retailers near me dont have that particular model in their inventory

does anyone know what brand and model this is?
