Favorite sports commentator crews

A few of my favorites:

- The TNT NBA crew. Charles, Kenny, and Ernie are really great together. They know what they are talking about, they are entertaining, and they mesh really well. Charles is always hilarious. He is so refreshingly politically incorrect and honest about things. He even criticizes parts of the show! I love when commentators get free reign. Head and shoulders above ESPN's NBA team.

- The Mets broadcasting crew - Gary Cohen, Ron Darling, and Keith Hernandez. Very similar dynamics to the TNT crew, with Gary being more knowledgable about baseball than Ernie about basketball. Keith = Charles, though more eloquent and more prone to go off on hilarious tangents. Ron is one of the most insightful color commentators in broadcasting today.

- For football, I can't say anyone really stands out right now. I really liked Madden and Summerall, I thought they complemented each other tremendously. But right now, no one is head and shoulders above the rest.

I love Charles, Kenny, and Ernie. They're one of those teams you wish would never break up. I first thought you were talking about the guys who call it play-by-play, I would say I'm partial to Breen, JVG, and Mark Jackson myself, now that Reggie Miller replaced the Czar next to Marv Albert.

If play-by-play, I'm all about Chuck Swirsky..he's a god

Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.

Extra points if Rampage is there too.

The dude that is awesome for play-by-play is Gus Johnson. Gus owns March Maddness.

Yes. I don't switch from TNT when halftime arrives and I also catch pregame and postgame because the crew is just so good.

The best team for college basketball has been Tom Hammond and Larry Conley. Both know the game well and stick to the game on the floor. They don't venture into "who is the best eighth grader" trash.

+1 on the TNT crew. and +1 on Marv and anyone.

ESPN's College Gameday crew is terrific with Chris Fowler. Extremely professional and always seeming to have a good time.

NFL Radio's Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin (movin the chains) have some of the best radio on radio.

NFL matchup with Merril and Jaws always excels - same foot, same shoulder, rising bull.

Other notables - Jimmy Johnson - Tom Jackson

Whoever Bill Walton is with... Hopefully he will be back next year.

Marv and John Andraise (johnny hoops) were magnificent calling Knicks games. Walt Frazier does not get enough credit for his broadcasting skills, he talks a lot of shit but knows the game really well and is not afraid to call out players/league for their bullshit. Plus he is a great dresser.

On the opposite end, Tim McCarver needs to be deported.

NBA: I have gotten a great new appreciation for the TNT crew. Jeff Van Gundy is a pretty funny guy. And action Jackson is smart. And of course the studio with Sir Charles is great.

MLB: Who the fuck cares? I guess Joe Buck? Baseball blows

Football: I love anything that has paul maguire. The other announcers treat him like a kid. I think a few years ago he did College FB and they put him in one of those elevated camera carts the entire game, lol....

Jaws is awesome. That dude is actually really freaking smart, he sees things i never even notice.

+1,000,000 The way he argued that Michigan should play in the NC against OSU in '06 only to dog Georgia and campaign for LSU because Georgia didn't win the SEC in '07 was absurd.

Any team with Craig Sager. His wardrobe is always good for a laugh. I really like Charles Barkley because he's hilarious and hate Bill Walton because he's too over-the-top. I love Walton's writing, though.

I always liked John Madden because of his knowledge and enthusiasm, though I know a lot of people hated his "enthusiasm".
