Hot liquids (soup and tea), and layering can solve some of that. A bottle of hot tea inside your jacket is pretty nice.

Where do you go for camping in GA? I'm looking for some decent (as decent as we can get) winter camping (snow involved) somewhere near here. Was thinking that I might have to head up to NC though.

back in february of 2005, i went winter camping w/ some pros in -17 degree celsius weather, which is 1.4 fahrenheit we didn't have tents, just sleeping bags - we took tarps and broke branches and made our own tents we took such crazy precautions that i was SWEATING inside my sleeping bag, within the tent

I respect you for taking on this challenge, but this type of camping has absolutely no appeal to me.
