I was thinking Beam straight out of the bottle (when in Rome!) but the thought of a buncha guys sitting around a fire drinking copious amounts of whiskey is a bad bad idea.

It's really neat, they have this new invention...it's called a cooler. They may not have made it back east yet, but it's great. It's basically this big insulated box. You fill it with ice and it keeps things cold.

It's awesome.

Who carries a cooler on day-long hikes to mountain summits? Oh I forgot, all y'all are pussies. "Camping" equals driving your BMW to the local park and pitching a tent.

Actually I live in Texas we drive our 4WD pickups to camp. Not a lot of mountain summits here, but even if there were, you camp down below and hike up, then come back down to camp to drink beer...cold beer...from a cooler.

Bourbon for hiking, beer (and more bourbon) for car camping. Alaskan Amber has become my camping beer of choice.

We're camping outside of Winthrop. Wild wild west! Bourbon could do the job. I usually gain like 5 pounds when I camp so I'm trying to stick with hard-A though beer sounds way more fun and social around a fire and sitting in a river.

Grey Goose on ice with a lime if I feel like cutting one, of course granted you have ice because there seems to be a debate in this thread as to how ice can be preserved hahaha

The last bear here has been killed 3 or 4 hundred years ago, danger might come from cattle.

+1

When we used to go camping in Georgia we would always set up camp by the river / stream. Drop your beer in there and they will stay cold all weekend.

Bigger issue is carrying them in if you are hiking.

Thats why Turkey 101 packs the greatest punch for your Alcohol to weight ratio
