Weird direction change there bro. Yes, the 66 was designed as a running shoe originally. Of course it's nothing like modern running shoes. That's the whole point of this thread, and your NBs and the statistically increased likelihood of injury they cause are not welcome here.

Keep in mind Roger Bannister ran the first four-minute mile in what was basically a leather slipper. These f*cking moon boots everyone is wearing these days is ridiculous.

Metro, do try the 66s. Other OTs won't do the trick. The 66 has a very thin sole and only the tiniest amount of extra padding (a tiny layer of foam) on the inside. However, also try on a pair of VFFs. I went out today again in mine and it just feels great to run the way nature intended, lightly, using the ball of your foot, rather than slamming down over and over on your heel. You're in NYC anyway. If Socal can wear a skirt with $800 high-top sneakers, you can wear VFFs.

Okay.. so if I lift at the gym then do interval sprints after what kind of shoes should I wear? or should I buy separate pairs and swap out?

Like the look of the shoes you guys are postin. I lift in the most beat up athletic wear I have- a pair of thrashed sneakers does it for me.

I currently use Five Fingers to lift, run in some old New Balance. Looking for one shoe to do both in. I have a fairly wide foot.

Was considering the Merrell Trail Glove: http://www.merrell.com/US/en/Barefoot_Collection

or

New Balance Minimus series: http://www.newbalance.com/nb-minimus/

Open to any suggestions.

Can't you run in the Five Fingers if you have them and you wear them while lifting?
