If any of you have removed this fancy-dancy thread does a permanent imprint of the stitches remain?

I took the stitching off my low straights. They look awesome - only a very slight hint remains in an imprint.

Awesome.

Hey, I ran across a Japanese store that sells RRL, with images on line: Hunky Dory

They keep a Flickr gallery of RRL items at RRL Flickr

It looks like a good collection of RRL images.

Gumercindo, assume you got those at GTown? Great pickups! On those slim boot cut jeans - are they the ones they are kind of slubby, almost look like a linen blend, but are denim? As opposed to the khaki slim fits that feel like regular denim.

I think they retailed for something like $360. Had my eye on those, but wasn't sure. How much did you pay? Thanks!

kmd: Yep, from GTown. Those are the same jeans - kind of a cotton/linen blend feel, but they are denim. They fit so well and are so comfortable. They retailed for $360 and I got them for $180, iirc.

That sounds like them. Those things are awesome. I thought they were linen when I tried them on and was surprised to see the tag saying they are denim. $180 is not outlet price, but pretty good for the store. I may go check those out myself. Does it look like they have a lot of those and other sale items still?

No outlet price, for sure, but even that would be closer to $120-130, I imagine? In any event, to get the size you want in clothing you love - it's worth the extra $. They have loads of items still. Shirts can still be had for $80, and "regular" denim in the $120-150 range.

i actually love the stitching on those low straights! and agreed, the fit is great on those.

I just received these jeans today, and I'm quite pleased. They're the nicest, best fitting jeans I've ever owned. I purchased them w/o ever having tried on a pair of RRL jeans, so thank heavens for sellers who go beyond just providing the tag's measurement.

I'm not a fan a conspicuous branding. I'll be able to hide the leather RRL tag behind a belt. The pocket stitching kind of bugs me... it's too flamboyant.

Feels like I have the monkey temple on my keister.

I'm thinking I'll pluck the Buddha-face stitches from both pockets. But the thread seems unusual. On the pocket's surface it is light gold, but when I look inside the pocket it's clear/silver. I've never seen thread such as this - the thread I removed from my Levi's is just plain gold. If any of you have removed this fancy-dancy thread does a permanent imprint of the stitches remain?
