But GUYS, jimmyfingers has cancer, and got mugged out of his convertible at gunpoint. Show some respect guys!

I got my stuff, as advertised and on time. No issues from me with Jimmy Fingers, I assumed all the post deleting was just a CYA in case his employer started digging around. Let the kangaroo court begin!

But am I the only one who finds it amusing that people who rushed to take advantage of this deal with JF had to know it wasn't exactly kosher. So,you participate in deceving RL in order to gain a financial advantage and then get upset when you yourself are possibly deceived?

A fool and their money were lucky to get together in the first place.

Here's the deal, those of you who ordered with a CC are safe (you can do a chargeback within 60 days.) Those who used their PP balance or sent money as ''gift'' will have a long road ahead of you to recover your money, if at all. I am assuming jimmyfingers has fake tracking numbers that go to the appropriate zip codes to provide proof of delivery. I will not get into detail about how this can be done.

Paypal will free up money after 21 days regardless of tracking info and then it is available for withdrawal. Once it gets withdrawn he has the money in his possession and you open a dispute, paypal will send out emails after about 30-45 days saying that you won the dispute, but they are unable to recover the funds for you.

If he doesn't provide tracking you should get reimbursed from paypal in an INR dispute. If he has a phony tracking you are probably SOL.

Yeah, I got my stuff, mostly.

I see one of two possibilities with jimmy:
  1. straightforward fraud
  2. that he got himself in a bind that he's having problems getting out of

If the latter is the case (and I think it is), then he needs to own up to that with relevant people, and figure out how to resolve this ASAP.

Here is a link to his facebook. You can also try annoying his 2 friends for contact info.

Somebody's sent a mail saying I should put up more evidence. Understandable, especially if you've had a smooth transaction. Even William might admit he has plenty of money that belongs to other people and that he won't be sending out their clothes. He also says he won't refund the money, at least for six months or something. I can't detail every lie (and potential lie) he tells, but the eight people I know about who are owed money are sceptical of him. I assume the mods here can look into our PMs and have seen Will's comments to people go from "I placed your order", even "your stuff's in the post" to "your stuff's not coming and I won't give you your money back" - or won't repay at least for months or whatever. Maybe he paid for people's stuff on credit when one (!) of his PayPal accounts got locked, then collected more orders to pay for the first lot in the gamble PayPal would unlock that account and that money would cover the second batch. He's told people that two of his PayPal accounts (!) are locked, but it appears only one at the moment. Even if you take the view he mostly just ran into trouble then felt he had to lie etc, none of it exactly stacks up and it looks like he's trying to get away with stuff on top of that, but who knows what's going on exactly? The only thing to bear in mind is that he's lied too much and has a lot of money that isn't his. The bottom line is that believing him and sympathy have left us fools and without our money. And yeah, I pick some scenarios of how he potentially ended up in this predicament and still feel sympathy! That isn't the bottom line, though. No matter how confused it is or becomes in terms of sympathy or anything else, please return to the bottom line. I don't know how much each person is owed. I'm in for $290, which isn't much compared to others but is a lot to me. I don't know how much everybody is owed and won't say what I do know, but it's obvious it totals thousands. I will list people who are owed money so I look less like an isolated crackpot (it's unrealistic for me to shoulder all this and I trust nobody has a problem with it - I posted on the thread because we discussed that somebody had to):

Dave_SFU
dmashita
ffatt
lagsun
NorCal_1
Rayson
reydogg23

Manfred, there'll be plenty of your sort of view, it's just whether people bother to express it. I didn't know JF's deal involved deceiving RL, I have no idea how these discounts work, but that's by the by. Every deal in the world involves deception in one way or another if you want to look at it like that but there's a difference between something like downloading an album illegally to see if you want to buy it, getting more of a discount on some clothes than you should (a discount that still isn't enought to prevent a company turning a profit on it) and stealing thousands of dollars from people. It could've gone wrong for you, so you're as much a potential fool as anybody.

I think the record companies would argue that last bit.

Sorry to hear that peeps got screwed by JF. I will admit that I was skeptical at first but figured it was worth the shot. I did eventually get everything I ordered and was even thinking of placing another order but once he said money orders only I just didn't feel comfortable. I spoke to him several times on the phone and he seemed to be a stand up guy. Last week he messaged me and asked me to remove all posts referring to his proxy service.
I hope everybody gets back what they are owed. It is a shame to see stuff like this happen.
JF - stop being a pussy and man up homie.

I know some people in the record industry and they broadly tolerate it as a promotional tool! But yeah, most don't and that really is by the by.

Thanks for your advice to people. It is all ridiculous from the point of view of "I gave a load of money to somebody I met on the internet called Jimmy Fingers and guess what? He won't give it back!" Ah, well.

Nine people owed money that I know of now.

guess i'm lucky the only thing i got from him was the pink pony card. only lost $8
post #7181 of 20052
He owes me $475 since Sept 27th plus that pink pony card he asked for donations for but did anyone ever get?

I was told at least 3 times my order had shipped and every time i asked where it was i didnt get an answer. Now im told he cant pay me for 6 months. Only one of his paypal accounts is locked btw it seems, the other is open. Didnt he claim he was quitting RL in two weeks anyway when he started doing this? And he was taking money order orders well after telling people he couldnt refund their paypal payments

Neither here nor there but as a dude who runs a record label, I dont have much of a problem with people downloading off the net. Its 2011, you cant stop it. It does help the bands. The only thing i dont like is when a record leaks before its release date.
yeah he said he worked for RL and was going to use his last 2 weeks to take advantage of his employees discount

I'm one of the foolish 9 still out of luck as listed by Rayson. So far it looks the following received at least some or all of their orders:

Manfred Freitag
sm31
edubs01

Anyone else want to add their names to either list?
