LOL. Wow, unintentionally intentional. & I typo'd.

& Yeah, but the quilted lining feels so good on my nipples. It's so silk and warms up so quickly. LMAO. I don't know if I was serious though. I just took the v-neck I had on off and through it on.

I could wear a henley and thermal without a beater. I just got used to it after they disappeared on ****** all the time.

.....................no comment.

Anyways, basically what you're saying is that you are going to wear a "jacket" with nothing underneath...?

Man, seriously. I was converting those prices and my shirt apparently cost $700? That can't be right.

it's more expensive there, for certain. they have more restrictive policies in japan for nearly everything. i think we've discussed that before in here

also i think a lot of their RRL does come from american outlet stores (the stuff on that reseller site almost certainly does). i know some people who make a living basically just selling clothes to select shops (e.g. it's more difficult to get a brand in japan than it is in america, so they get an account in america and essentially distribute the brand to japanese stores while the brand thinks they are just dealing with a retail account).

These are interesting observations about the brand's identity in Japan. That Koober store link was 14 pages of fun stuff to look at. I always enjoy flipping through well-lit photos of the sold out pieces from past seasons. RRL really puts effort into some risky (re)creations and riffs on iconic pieces. I personally lean towards their undistressed, pitch-perfect remakes (like the awesome WWII peacoat with horn anchor buttons) with updated sizing, but the crazy distressed stuff is great to admire. Lots of imagination, and it's so interesting to see the capabilities and reach of the Ralph Lauren company to spin these great fabrics and piece them together. Anyone have any links to other Japanese resellers who have extensive online photos of past seasons / special collections? I'm curious to see as much as I can from the last five years at least!

Rakuten has a ton of RRL stuff up. RRL Rakuten Japan On the one hand it looks lucrative for us to sell to Japanese buyers. But keep in mind they if they have to resell it AND pay import tariffs, even over retail as most RRL stuff sells for I don't think you an sell for much past eBay prices. Unless of course it's more rare/limited items like that sweet patchwork shirt.

Yeah! Wasn't that awesome? haha. It's those pieces that make RRL so awesome! It's hard to believe it's a part of Ralph Lauren sometimes. & thanks for that info W. & haha! I never knew Rakuten could be read in english!

there is actually a trick to getting past the largest import tariffs and that is having someone (experienced in doing this) ferry the stuff over instead of sending it by mail.

So, basically: you buy stuff, you ship it over to a connect, the connect smuggles it over to the buyer, you get paid, you pay your connect? That's on some drug ****.

Well, apologies to the ebay seller who is selling that denim shirt with the tear. From the rakuten site Prajna linked to:

I guess the tear is intentional. Such a dumb concept though.

Anyways, I got the wabash polka dot shirt today. Very cool shirt. I don't find the hue of blue to be denimish at all - perfectly fine with worn or dark jeans. The material is kind of lightweight to the touch but when I put it on its a solid shirt. Sizing is interesting: mine measures a good 26"+ at the chest and yet it doesn't feel big at all due to the narrower armholes and narrower shoulders (relative to other RRL shirts with the same chest). All in all a great shirt. I don't know if it's worth the full retail but I bought it at retail and have no regrets, so that's a sign of how much I like it.
