I know we are all RRL biased, and so is Ralph Lauren. I don't imagine Ralph would allow for his 'baby' to take the big hit to sacrifice dollars? I imagine they'll streamline inventory and cut back on brick & mortar locations before killing another brand. If anything, wouldn't they trim back Purple Label and downsize the options available through the Polo brand? However, I do know that RRL's profit margin is slim to none because of the price point and number of sales they end of running in order to clear previous seasons. Then again, what do I know. I just hope RRL never goes away ha
I've been wearing Polo forever and got into RRL about a year ago. I agree with streamlining inventory. Just look at the spring 2016 catalogue. It's huge. Maybe they need to stick with just the core items and a few limited edition pieces.
They are only 6 RRL stores (4 in NY and 2 in CA) and a bunch of RL stores that carry RRL. I was really surprised when RL recently opened the RRL store in Brookyn. If people aren't spending, etc., then why did they open a new store? Full disclosure: what do I know??? I just hope they never give rid of RRL.
