I must say the SA's I have dealt with in East Hampton, Malibu, and Melrose (LA) have been nothing but awesome.  Especially since I have only purchased stuff on sale.

This green pair never really got comfortable. I've since purchased two pair of Bullard Field pants by Bills Khakis in the M3 fit. Similar weight and heft as Officer Chinos but actually quite comfortable. Bills had sales over the holidays for 75% off. I grabbed my 2nd pair then.

So, to add even MORE confusion to the mix. I've attached a photo of one of the mannequins at STAG wearing one of said shirts in questions. I took this photo earlier today. The mannequin was outside, no filters, and it was overcast so nothing is overexposed. So, who's to say?! This photo looks completely different than the other two haha

I would prefer the Stag Matlock over the RRL Matlock (if the pictures are truly accurate).
And I was considering the RRL Jacquard, but after seeing the Stag colors, not so much.

I am really digging the RRL Matlock Plaid Workshirt. The washed/worn-in fabric looks killer. Not sure what's up with the STAG photos. They seem way off. The plaid pattern is "crossing" on the pockets on the STAG version.

I have been wanting some Bill's Khakis and will definitely check them out.  Pretty happy with the Grown & Sewn pairs I have and I also really like the pair of Ovadia & Sons I have as well.

been looking at the matlock plaid but have so many rrl workshirts I'm trying to decide if I realllly need another one. although if you sign up for the stag mailing list you can get 15% off. I guess that really only covers tax and shipping. was able to get the green tradesmen cotton linen at stag last night because they were all sold out online and the wb store only had smalls left in stock.
also picked up the cotton wool workshirt sweater a few days ago. glad I waited for the original 700$ price to drop down less than half. who can comment on the color and fabric? also had to pull the trigger on the brown jaspe clydes (w/o the buckle back) out of town till next week so I have some goodies to come home to.

All RRL except the kicks.

I think I need to pick up a few more shirts. I just can't justify paying full price and not loving the rest of the stuff on sale at the moment. Any other sites I should check out?

Just a couple of quick iphone pics. As has been mentioned, the key is to avoid the dryer. I think monthly washes are fine but if you want to keep them looking as new, dry clean as @Cooly
mentioned.

I don't hate the effect but I lost the chance to dress them up at all.

I have the rigid tan/khaki version from 2012 and used the dryer regularly, probably 4x/year. Because they are such a light color, you just don't see the contrasty lines. I'm all for rigid denim but my experience with rigid chinos hasn't been as positive (my fault completely). I have the RRL Officer chino in olive HBT and never used the dryer but they are still so stiff that they just aren't comfortable. I'm much happier with the pre-washed Bullard twill but maybe when I need another pair of chinos I'll try a pair of the RRL washed versions. No more rigid for me.

How often do you wear the rigid, my completely soften in less than a month (daily wearing though)

I'm with you, even my rigid Clydes are significantly less rigid than a week ago with daily wear. Some of my other unwashed rigid chinos are soft enough that most non-RRL folks wouldn't even know what I was talking about if I told them that were rigid models at this point. The next adventure will to wash some of the older ones at this point and see how they come out. I think I'll try the the washer and just hang dry.

That could be it, I only wear them once a week or so, tops. But I figure after a year, it's still 50 wears and they never feel all that great. Maybe it's me, too wimpy for rigid chinos...clearly not officer material.

Got the hercules washed red chambray today. I hate to gush over such a simple staple, but it's really nice. The perfect shade of faded red, heavy fabric, super soft, triple chainstitched details.

has anyone seen this in person yet?

I have it. I'll post a pic later. It's dope but darker than the photos.

Can you post a pic for us to see?  Unless my monitor is  way off, the website pic portrays a color that resembles orange sherbert.
