How so? I find it to be a standout in a good way, especially the way it looks rotated on the pockets, turning the square checks into diamonds. I think it has a 50s rock'nroll/gas station attendant sort of feel to it, which I prefer to some of the plaids that just seem western, and some of them that seem lumberjack.
Anyway, I certainly won't begrudge you your different taste in patterns.
BTW, that shirt is more of a medium weight flannel, not lightweight like the American Graffiti ones which seem like ideal spring shirts. I'd be curious to know about the thickness of the flannels of some of the other recent collections like the lighthouse and alaska, if anyone has that information.
