RRL SALE

Thanks much.  That's too bad, guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see if it hits the end-of-season discounts.

FWIW, I also took one size down (32, being 33 in trousers). When going 2 sizes down in the slim fits, while I could button them, the upper block was just too tight in the thighs and crotch, like I was wearing women's jeans. I thought the waist had a good amount of snugness, and with some nominal stretching from wear, would fit best after several wears. I was not confident the other areas would likewise stretch. I work out regularly with decent size legs if that helps.

I was finally able to check out using iPhone Firefox and PayPal.
Shoprunner applied.
Every time I tried to login to Ralph account prices reverted to non sale.

I had the same problems as everyone - only saw the Private Sale online: Safari and Chrome both showed sale items, but wouldn't register anything. Per advice, I went ahead and called West Broadway, explained I saw the PS items and wanted to purchase one of said items. Jordan was quick to help, and explain things were 40% Off and they'd validate that Sale!

I didn't dig about the online issue, just got in and out before things didn't go as I had planned ha

Moral of the story, follow up by calling the stores and 'ask and you shall receive!' I imagine they're looking to land as many sales per store as possible - online sales always eat at In-Store sales, so phone-orders are always welcomed in the retail world!

This is fucking stupid. Is there a sale or not? The only reason I even see the private sale is because of the link someone posted here. But none of the items are marked down. I don't think the RRL stores want me calling and requesting what the sale prices are of every item in the private sale web page.

A billion dollar business and they can't figure out how to get their website to display correctly in all browsers.

[edit] I stand corrected. The ad I got in the mail for a private sale is just that, a private sale for in stores only. Nothing is suppose to be displaying on the site as marked down. Still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but oh well.[edit]

I feel you man! That's why I went the loop-hole route. As far as I have figured out, the Private Sale is for an elite group of customers, BUT if you view it in Chrome you can see the new sale prices, and if you call the shops, they're validating those sale prices because they're not wanting to lose a sale. I may be wrong in saying all that, but I would assume that's why they'll gladly take phone orders, and honor the PS discounts

You just need to call. I gave up on the website yesterday after getting all the way to paypal payment and having the sale price revert back to full retail. Super annoying. But I just called the Fillmore store and gave them the item numbers for the 2 pieces I wanted. It's better to call anyway, because you will get 40% off instead of the 30% online sales price.

As we ponder the current sale clusterfk, we should consider that it's also what allows things like the recent luxotica leaked code to last as long as it did.

As Alex99 said, you're better off calling the store and getting the extra 10% discount. If your SA doesn't have an item is stock, he/she can get it from another store.

Believe me, the employees share our opinion of the web site. But they have also been placed in the uncomfortable position of having to compete with the web store.

I think there's an opportunity here to reinvent the retail experience. I don't have any hard numbers but I'm willing to bet that RRL customers not only have more disposable income; they are also better informed than consumers of other, mass-market brands. (Not to mention that RRL enthusiasts are better looking, more progressive and just plain fun to be around.)

An SA told me he's often heard of upcoming sales from his RRL customers before corporate lets him know what's going on.

No RRL but the pants are a thrifted pair of green labels.  I want to say they are Laurens but either way i like the fit.
