I need info please. Are they new and what fit are are they. I'm guessing since they are limited edition they are made out of Japanese denim.

no idea about actual measurement but I can tell you that
1. slim tapper a lot on my thigh which makes it border line ridiculous (though I admit I have sharp knee tongue.gif)
2. waist felt tighter as well

Cooler temps means time to break out some new Winter RRL flannels...  :decisions:

welp, slim midlands are definitely not buttoning up with a 32waist lol. before trying to exchange, if anyone ITT might take that size, PM me. Otherwise, I'm attempting to change up a size mañana.

I ask because RRL jeans say to do dry them on low as well, but I would not recommend drying rigid jeans as they turn the jeans permanently soft  afterward...and I do not want this to happen to the rigid chinos...

Normally I dry clean all chinos but with one of the rigid chino's I am looking to to see if they shrink a little after washing them...especially in the seat...

thanks in advance for any feedback...

so i pretty much wore my rigid chinos for like 6-8 months without washing them then washed them in cold water inside out with woolite dark. wore them another few months then did the same thing. always hung dry them. fades still occur after washing and it's cool you can see the honeycombs on the inside of the pant leg also. I pointed this out to my girlfriend and she was like "well you don't wear your pants inside out right so who cares?" haha she's right but it's still cool. aside from combs and whiskers I noticed fades on outside of front pockets probably from putting my hands in them to get stuff. fades in the back from pocket bags and back seams from sitting. after washing and drying they are still plenty stiff but after a day or so of wear they soften up. I haven't noticed any major shrinkage in waist or length aside from what happens after cotton gets wet and dries but the color lightens up a bit and the thread weave become more pronounced if that makes sense. now I kind of just wash my rigid chinos when they need to be washed and hang dry them. not too particular about l anymore because I just wear the hell out of them. wouldn't recommend drying though.

on a side note I purchased the fall or spring officers field chino in that tanker olive color which looks khaki ish online but probably totally different in reality. wondering if anyone has these that can comment on them. are they selvedge? not really sure what cotton Faille is but they are like 12oz so that's pretty heavy. also picked up the indigo calico bandana scarf which looks dope. both slated to arrive tomorrow. also replaced my rigid and once washed jeans that either got lost in the mail or stolen from my apt lobby. went with slim fit instead of slim straight and I like the fit better. actually looser in the top block but tapered below knee. like that because I can wear with lower profile shoes. have to get the length taken up still.

ps now reading a few pages back I'm bummed out I missed that code! just tried it and it seems to have expired. could've saved over a hundred bucks on new threads but such is life. will wait for end of November sales

Just received the field chino today. They're much more of an olive color than what's depicted on the web site. RRL online seems to have a problem depicting olive; it always looks brown instead. They're definitely heavyweight, though quite soft. The faille is almost like a super fine corduroy. The button fly has metal buttons.

One thing that annoys me about RRL chinos is that, on me at least, the waist -- the top block -- is always loose, even when the rest of the pant fits good in the leg and rear. Not sure if a tailor could fix this.

I think they have an issue with rendering color of any kind.  Just received and returned the Hercules Chambray.  It matches the "faded red" description, but it certainly is not the color portrayed on the site.

Thanks to the recent code, I also picked up the black indigo sweats.  Tried L -- which turned out to be 32" waist (un-stretched), so I am returning.  Figure I am probably a M there, and I have not been a M -- well, ever.

if you have any desire or have the chance - could you post a pic of the hercules chambray ...its on my "on sale" which list... I kind of liked the orange color on the website and was hoping it was more orange-ish...

Unfortunately, it is already en route back to RL.  I should have taken some pics beforehand - sorry.  I can testify however that it is definitely not orange.  I also purchased hoping for orange, but it is really a white-washed red (more pale-pinkish-red than orange).  It is not what I (we) wanted, sad to say, based on the web site pictures.  Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for the detailed info.  I went ahead and had mine dry cleaned and will say dry cleaning has minimal impact on the look, feel, and doesn't have any noticeable shrinkage.

I think I will go ahead and wash the slim khaki ones next time and line dry like you did (and I do the rigid jeans)....
