Does anything seem fishy about these RRL shirts on ebay? I know that knockoff RRL isnt exactly the most common thing but all of these shirts look a little bit off to me. The seller has 5 lots of 3 RRL plaid shirts that all have a weird top button loop. Are these just random shirts with RRL labels sewn in?

Those are vintage RRL shirts (from the 1st phase of RRL - C.1993). Think it lasted until around 1997 then was discontinued. Ralph bought it back a few years ago. These will most likely run very large - medium will be more like L or even XL.

Just click on the picture to see it full size. From there is it not in whatever resolution the poster took it?

Thanks. Forgot about that. I noticed if it's hosted on SF and has resolution parameters in the code then it compresses it poorly. But clicking the full size image might bypass that.

You think those are legitimate? The fact that the prints all look so awful and are being sold as lots seems fishy to me too. The Polo Country and old RRL stuff is usually really nice from what I've seen.

I would put serious money on them being 100% legit. They look exactly like other vintage RRL shirts I've seen. Label is correct (the scroll is pointing upwards indicating C.1993 and not downwards as it does currently), and Singapore was where a lot of the shirts used to be made.

Either way, they are pretty ugly.

No, hoit is right. They are vintage pieces.

I have the upper right plaid rayon blue one, but I unstitched the pockets and flaps.

If they look awful, it's for several reasons.

1. Not everything RRL made/makes looks good
2. The shirts don't photo very well. The colors are much more subdued and deep in person
3. Blame it on the mid-90's aesthetic. They are very bowler/workwear/grunge inspired

Now, personally I love the one I have. I bought it because it is 100% rayon and sometimes like that material very much in a shirt. The caveat being that I only wear it more as a shirt-jac, layered over something. Some considerations: these shirts are thick-ish, even the rayon ones, the chest sizing is huge, the length very short, as are the sleeves. Very strange fitting, but can be pulled off nicely in certain ways.

wow the Corbin Messenger on the UK site looks sickly in comparison to the US site. I wonder if those are more accurate pics of it. It's also almost double the price after conversion... $1090

Wow, it's my first time seeing any RRL shirts in that style. I used to have a blue label RL shirt that was 100% rayon but it looked completely different. I can see some appeal in the fact that rayon is super soft. If you get a chance post a pic, I'd be curious to see visually how you pull it off.

Wow well spotted - same product in UK looks so weak! I check both sites but hadn't noticed the difference. Not surprised about the price difference however, us Brits getting stung on prices as usual....

Which is which? They both look the same to me...and they both look nice.

Both do look nice, and both the same, its just that the photographer for the US site, (second pic) did a better job at making the product look its best than the UK pics (first pic) in my opinion, and Sym's. But yes, true, the same ultimately.

I actually like the first one better haha. To each his own I guess.

But ya, very pricey on the uk site.
