Hey, this will be my first RRL denim purchase.

Can someone please tell me how to size this? Up or down (and by how much)?

Enough already, just buy all the sizes you think you'd might fit into and return what doesn't work.  They have a great returns policy.

Has anyone seen the Wilkins leather in person, if so what are your impressions of it?

I quite liked the first one when I tried it on but I didn't think it was worth full price for some reason. It was a few months ago so I can't really remember why unfortunately. Have you considered the Merino shawls? http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=22850366&cp=11588650.12145641&ab=ln_men_cs2_seeall&view=99&pg=2&parentPage=family I tried the faded navy one on and thought it was gorgeous. Really thick and soft.

Thanks, will take a look. Just wanted to pick up a few things online before sale started Thursday. Just need the herringbone green chinos now. And regarding the leather, I tried it on as well, nice slim fit. A bit heavier than I expected as well but at current price I'd only get if I really like design / style and need a leather. Otherwise I'd wait for the $650-700 range

Doesn't hurt to order to see though

Anyone have experience in the Slim Straight rigid? I have several Low Straight pairs and was wondering if the fit was similar to the Low Straight but with a higher rise.

i dont remember how i sized but its the most comfortable all-around cut RRL offer imo. same high rise as the slims but with a little more thigh room and same slim leg

I'd agree with Namor except I found the leg opening to be slightly wider than my low straights (although I put that down to a wee bit of shrinkage in my low straights).

Has anyone actually purchased a pair of slim straights or have we all just tried them on to see how they fit? If you have bought them, have you got any comments on the Cone Denim? Standard rhetoric on here seems to be that the cone denim is terrible compared to the Japanese fabrics but nobody seems to have actually bought a pair.

I really want that Donegal cardigan, but I just can't justify it when i can get a pair of cords, a sweater, and a shirt for the same price. Has anyone seen the donegal sweater in person?

I've had other brands that use Cone denim and it's decent if you're not expecting too much or if you're not a huge raw denim enthusiast but you just like the way dark jeans look/feel. Given the same $240 price going with the Japanese denim is a no brainer.

At $142, I'd probably go with the Cone denim if I were on a low-budget, it's still a great price for USA made rigid selvedge and a good fit, from a reputable designer.

just missed out on a tagged 35x23 slim rigid. didnt realize that RRL makes a 35 tagged waist. if you bought them on ebay and it doesnt work out let me know

Thanks Namor and Jagger for the help. I'm hoping these would actually fit well. I wear a 31 in my washed pairs of Low Straights but the 31 in the low straight rigid was too big but the 30 was extremely tight, polar opposites for some reason (maybe just got 2 bad pairs?). Hopefully these work. They probably have a 'hairier' finish in person than they show online.

Does anyone know if the denim in the new roper jacket is made in Japan? (I know the jacket itself is made in the U.S.

Thanks!
