Speaking of D&S, look what they've done (just today) to the beautiful limestone facade of 99 University Place. I work opposite this and have to see this shit everyday now... RALPH, WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING???!!!

missed out on the RRL version a couple season ago. can anyone speak to the denim & supply line quality?

Looks like poor quality Inverallan.

This is completely off topic, but Avicii is by no means "Euro trash".

Now, to stay somewhat on topic, I'm not really a fan of of RRL or D&S. The prices are a little outrageous to me, along with the fact that most of their stuff doesn't fit with my style whatsoever. When it comes to jeans, I typically wear basic Levi 505s, but I own a pair from a new brand that is based in my hometown. They aren't cheap by any means, but they're 100% handmade right here in Raleigh.

Nobody cares about Raleigh jeans. Why are you in the RRL thread?

If they were on the website a few weeks ago, they would have been on sale as part of Give in Style. Discount was generally around 20% in the UK for RRL.

Holy shit. I just had to look up Avicii to get an idea of what you guys are banging on about. Listened to "Wake Me Up", its the worst garbage imaginable.

At about minute in I started to think that the clothes the chick wears looked familiar, and then I saw the saddle...

And the gratuitous branding...

Premise of the video:
Hot chick is in bed with a young girl.
They walk around some backwoods town and feel unwanted.
They go back to bed.
Hot chick gets up and rides a horse through a vineyard to the city.
She meets like-minded people and rides around in the back of a van.
She goes to a rave (probably gets off-her-face on booze and drugs).
Goes back home.
Gets the child out of bed and both of them go to the rave (probably so that she can ply the child with booze and drugs).
The end.

Song is pretty catchy and I actually don't mind it, I may even like it.

My original impression was really bad hipster crap but a lot of the stuff I've seen is really similar in style to RRL. I picked up the D&S chinos on sale for 20 something and I'm really impressed. No selvedge of course but it has a button fly and extra material to let out at the waste. Very similar to the Officer chinos except with a slim fit. Not RRL quality but better than the J Crew chinos I have. They now have a D&S "officer chino" which might be even more similar. Really good bang for your buck.

A lot of people talk about "quality" on styleforum but quality can be expensive. RRL is pretty expensive relative to all of Ralph Lauren's other lines (only Black Label and Purple Label are comparable on cost), so quality should be better than Denim and Supply. Denim and Supply is typically priced lower than the "Polo Ralph Lauren" line. I'm sure that line has some gems that provide great value, especially on sale (I've never examined the merchandise).

However, it's a terrible thing that they've done to that block on University. The Rugby Store there was well styled. People seemed to like carrying around the blue and yellow Rugby bags as well.

It's unforgivable. So trashy. It looks like absolute shit.

Do you listen to it in public while wearing huge headphones?
