The Official RRL Thread - Page 1088

This one is funny too.. old, ugly, used bootcut RRL jeans for only $895!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RRL-Ralph-Lauren-Polo-Denim-Jeans-Pants-Lot-Retail-1400-waist-32-/111180310487?pt=US_CSA_MC_Jeans&hash=item19e2dce7d7

Truth is, listing is .05/mo if you have a store so since the bulk of his items are Polo, he keeps the RRL inventory as expensive as possible and almost unattainable to attract more buyers and attention to his outlet store Polo crap he has unlimited supply from outlets, which looks cheap and affordable in comparison which he can offer to buyers who don't know the difference of RL's various labels, or anything about fashion at large and are looking to purchase a gift for their grandson (international, elderly, women, etc). Shysty marketing, same goes with BP and a few others.

Only 200 of the 2000 items he has listed are RRL, so he's not in a hurry to get rid of stuff that makes him look like a purveyor of high end designer clothing, rather than Polo outlet reseller.

I could understand that if he was solely dealing in new clothing. The fact that he's trying to flog his skanky used jeans for $900 must make him insane?

I picked up the slim fit chinos in the faded navy and they're CRAZY awesome. Basically the top block of the officer chino with a really tapered leg. Pretty perfect. I'm sad they only have one color this season, so if anyone has some other colors in 32-32 they want to part with hit me up.

alright, so ordered the 36 and a comparable 34 in the rigid officer chino...fit is as expected on each

the surprising bit, is that the material feels noticeably different between the two. 34s are much more rigid, feel slightly heavier weight (maybe just its rigidity) and the selvedge line is plain, just the rigid color

the 36s are softer and the selvedge line has a red line running through it. I'm sure they're both the same rigid officer chino, as I ordered them from the same page at the same time.

any ideas what's going on with this?

^ check the pocket bags. The ones with the red line are probably 9 oz and the other 10.

funny, and nice catch...noticed that after posting...34s are 10.8oz twill, others are 10.5oz. confused about how/why that would happen though? didn't think anything would be diff from 34 to 36 aside from sizing...what's the deal?
the 36s were left over from a previous run

confused...like, these are last season shit or something else?

Where'd you pick them up, and was it at a reasonable price?

I know it's been mentioned before but BP's photos are the creepiest. The fact that he wears all those NWT garments is disgusting. One he stuffs himself into a tight shirt, it ceases to be NWT in my book. A jacket over a shirt is one thing but the fact that he wears all those knit garments for a picture is rather off-putting. What's wrong with a mannequin?

rl.com, and you'd have to ask ralph if it was reasonable--paid retail

I bought a pair a few weeks ago from a Ralph store.
They were 10.5.

Maiden voyage for RRL rigid chinos (bonus alden navy CXL wingtip boots). Double cuffing until I can put a hem in, which I guess will be month or so of sporadic wear

Just picked up 2 pairs of the limited edition slim fits.

The denim is remarkable. Loose, slubby Japanese woven similar to the last limited ed. buckle backs. These fit pretty much the same as regular slim fits. But a little more room in the thigh and a tad shorter in the top block. These seem to be the same cut as the "New Fit" from years ago. They will stretch more than others as the weave is looser. Amazing details. They appear to be natural indigo dyed as well but not sure about that.

At $ 300 a pop they're pretty expensive. Just so much better than the regular RRL stock jeans. I would recommend trying to find them.

wore the rigid officer chinos out with the tags still on because I wasn't 100% on the 36s over the 34s yet

went to pet a bermese/newfoundland and she drooled on the chinos

36s it is then lol8[1].gif
