Haha. That comes from the cow, man. Leather is skin, you know. Any cattle brands, any barbed wire run through, any stretch marks, those make their way into the final product and tell the story of that cow's life. It's not a knock on the quality, it's something to be appreciated.

Uh... No. You must not have much leather in your life. I remember a Saddleback leather backpack went for$ 100s more than they usually go for because you can see the cattle's branding on it. Saddle up, pony boys.

Bullshit. Stretch marks means lazy shoemaker using the crappy part of the leather.
Branding isn't the same as stretchy belly leather.

Obviously the consensus here is to be a sissy about leather and I won't argue it. The process of calving requires the stretching of skin to accommodate the new calf. It's calfskin.

No, it's not calfskin. It's cowhide.
It's not a calf anymore if it just gave birth.

I believe the consensus is that you have no idea wtf you're talking about.
Also, when one states "I won't argue it" then they shouldn't follow it with more argument.

"Fully lined with French du Puy aniline-dyed calfskin"

Anything else you'd like me to school you on?

You do realize that the lining is the inside of the shoe.

Yes, you're right about that, I was wrong. I do believe the entire boot had been aniline dyed hence the notable inperfections.
