I actually just got the exact same pair of RRL in Portland wash which are about 2" inch longer than I normally wear. I was hoping to roll them up to wear with my AE longwings and Alden ranger mocs.

Nothing special, just exactly as you describe, about 1 1/2" rolled twice..

Tried a pair of these slim fit in Roper Wash from the online sale. These are so nice in real life. But the slim fit is such a problem for me. I don't know whether to try to stretch these things out, buy oversize and live with the waist, or just give up. I wish they'd make these in straight leg.

The online pictures do not do these justice.

Thanks, Gnatty. Out of curiosity, are the LWBs a JCrew version?

Sweet. Do the stores sell them?

Also, how does the slim fit in these compare to the slim fit in the standard selvedge?

I don't know, but I might try my local store this weekend to see if they have them.

These seem to fit the same as the other slim fits I have tried - low rise, narrow thighs. I think anyone who had issues with the thighs in the selvedge jeans will have the same problem with these. The fabric is super soft, though, so maybe it will stretch more? The color is a little more grey than in the photos; really terrific. When I opened the box, I had this "wow" reaction to them.

I might just size up and have the waist tailored.

I'm wearing these today actually. I find them slightly looser than my rinsed slim-fits in both the waist and thigh. I went tts if that helps and could have probably sized down 1 size (if they made W35 which they don't). Still surprised that they aren't selvedge (especially for $390) but hey-ho.

Thanks for the info; that's helpful.

Sale price is too high for me but I'll keep my eye out on B&S, perhaps. Btw, would you mind showing how it's tagged? I assume there's no mention of the word "Roper" anywhere on the tags?

No worries.

How do you mean tagged? There is a tag on the inside which reads "Slim Fit Roper Jean - Sulfur Blue"...

I had a few pairs of these earlier on in the year. I had them on the B&S section here but no one wanted them - even at the redonculously low price I was offering. They went off on eBay easily enough. You're right about the color - it's very unique and captured quite well in this photo (from my old listing)...

Great questions.

I have this coat from last season:

Wore it through the Seattle rains last Winter, and it finally started to develop a lot of creasing and lines. I'd like to re-wax, but I have no experience with it. Anyone done so with this jacket or a similar? Looking for tips on the process.

-Thanks

I also have the same jacket and have thought about re-waxing it recently. I haven't used them but I thought I would give Green Mountain Reproofing a try. I'm simply too lazy to do it myself, and would be concerned about fucking it up.

Edit: I just noticed that New England Reproofers offer a repair service too. Might give them a go.

The same with the "Roper" not being selvedge...Also was not excited LOL about the way the material felt, almost a non denim and more of a brushed  khaki. Ended up returning them.

Went down one size as I do with all RRL denim.

Enjoy.

See now, I love the feel. So goddamn soft and smooth!

Did yours stretch? And in the thighs at all? My fit seems off from yours and Mon Dieu, but it is still the thighs that are the issue for me.

This is my first day of wearing them actually so not able to report on stretching yet. To be honest, they aren't super tight at all and I'll wear with a belt so I'm not expecting stretch.

That's the generation I had before the whole exploding pen business, though don't remember it being that dark.
