Just arrived back from Bicester UK. There were some RRL remnants but nothing much to shout about.................................................
Overall the whole experience at Bicester Ralph Lauren was rather stressful
They have a Special Gift promotion of 20% off when you spend £450 or more*, so after scanning all my items, I was £90 under this £450 value and the helpful Gentleman Sales Assistant informed that I may seek more items to make up the difference and return to the side to pay for the whole transaction without the necessity to queue again.
Upon returning to the side of the Checkout, an abrupt female Italian/Spanish Sales Assistant told me she was very busy and that I had to go queue again so I tried to explain the situation.
Eventually I payed and exited the premises but..............was very curious whether this foreign-accent Sales Assistant had deducted the last added 4 items to the promotional price (if any), so I returned and requested a check on the 4 added items and was told by this same Sales Assistant that she had made no mistake and that I can complain to the Manager (strange form of self defence) if I so desired; she also apparently lost the original scanning of the 1st batch of items which was in her possession just a couple of Minutes earlier. All that was required was the rescanning of the items to determine if the price was congruous but two Sales staff began reading the tag numbers and ticking it off the receipt, how can this determine the correct price ? it only determined that all the items have been accounted, no ?
Exited again but was still not satisfied with their checking/counting because most retail establishment would train their Staffs to just rescan every item for discrepancies (saves much time) rather than doing this useless manual counting, so I returned yet again.
This time to be confronted by the supposedly Mangeress and another Member of Management, both seemed to possess an air of disdain (we have your money , now go away and stop bothering us !).
When I queried part of the receipt, this Manageress was adamant that everything was correct and cannot grasp that if the input by the Sales assistant was incorrect, the recipt will still add-up correctly. She also vehemently explained that the 20% denoted on the receipt represents VAT, I sensed a "I have explained your error, now go away" attitude. She either have no idea of the 20% representation on the receipt or she was talking cow-poo because that 20% added up to the value of the Special Gift promotion of £103.76, not to the value of £69.20 VAT which is clearly stated after the subtotal. See upload, Quod Erat Demonstrandum.
I am not saying all the Staff were disdainful, some were very helpful without seemingly being intrusive, credit where it is due but some members of staff need to take a crash course in Customer Relations especially on the side of the Management.
In the end they never did rescan these four added items................................................................All I wanted was to have the last four items rescanned, was that so demanding ?
NB: I am also of foreign orgin so there are no discrimination towards foreign nationals.
My head tells me to move on and ignore this Brand, my heart tells me otherwise so I edited this Post just slightly so as not to cause too much detriment to RRL.Edited by J888www - 7/26/13 at 7:58pm
