Even though I've been publicly hating on the non-Japan fabrics, I don't think we'll really know the difference until someone wears them to see how they fade. Sure there are differences in their raw state (or even one wash) but the true character of a denim comes out over time.

That being said, I've been seeking out the old Japan ones because I didn't like the lighter weight fabric I first saw on the new Slim Straight.

I thought all the Icon Core items like raws or one washes were using Japanese fabric?

Does that mean all stores replaced their original denims with Cone Mill denims?

Not all the icon ones (i believe), but I definitely saw that the low straights were now cone mills

i'm also in Mass....haven't found RRL anywhere.  The Closet on Newbury gets items in occassionally, but usually in size M.

What other outlets have you had success at?

Big section of ladies RRL at the West Broadway shop this week. Never been there before so I can't say if that is normal or not. Interesting point, when I was there, women outnumbered men in the shop.

I was there last September and women's stuff filled half of the wall where the belts are.

Cool, maybe one day women's will take off if there is more exposure online, but I don't know many women who want to dress like that I think for girls in their 20s D&S does a much better job at a much better price.

My g/f seems to be one of very few women out there who has a decent collection of RRL jeans, workshirts and jackets.
