I just fail to see how buying something that is priced to move and that the company wants gone is being a vulture. They literally encourage me to do it. Im not even talking about outlets here because most of what I buy is from the actual stores.
What about someone with a boutique home goods store that buys items wholesale out of a catalog and purchases from flea markets to fill their store. Are they reselling vultures too?

I suppose this activity, reselling, has some economic value, as it bridges a gap between supply and demand that might otherwise end up as slack. That doesn't mean I have to like it, and I don't. Enough said for one evening.

The funny thing is that you are one of many that came before you to complain about resellers. It occurs every few months. They sound an awful lot like this:

 

You guys just don't get it. I get it but none of you understand where I'm coming from.

It's not that I can't afford it, it's just that resellers get there first and buy all the good stuff.

I can afford anything I want. In fact...I can buy and sell you if I wanted to.

I've been wearing RRL way longer than any of you (aka: I prefer their early stuff).

If they have 20-30 RRL items, only an idiot would leave them there. Why not make some money? I know how to do it so I do it.

Like I said before, if the items don't sell in the store, they send them to outlets. Someone is going to buy them. SO, if you don't live near a boutique or outlet, like myself, eBay is the only place to pick up things that I've missed. Maybe there's an old item for a year ago that you didn't know existed, go on ebay, maybe a reseller has one for sale, and usually less than MSRP. I've gone as far as staying up until 3AM just to call the London store, going to the bank and doing a wire transfer, just because I really wanted that item. My point is, if you want it and you have the money, buy it or don't complain.

Oh, can we talk about RRL now?

I returned the "work" shirt that I purchased on line as it fit huge in the body. I kept the "western" shirt and even ordered another one as it fit much better.

Do all the work shirts fit like tents?

Thats cool never tried on any of the rtl work shirts was it jus not slim at all or could u have went down a size

I'm a 44 chest with a 17 neck and my shoulders are 19.5". Going down a size would make the arms, shoulders and neck too small.

I'm a 44 with 16.5 neck 6'1"and have found that most RRL's shirts in a large fit me very well. And do give me a nice slim fit.

The XL's tend to be too large for me. Although the sizing can be all over the place. Some of the cuts of their shirts are not very good and would not work for me in either the L or XL.

Hi Dave_SFU , please tell me more about the fit of the cafe racer jacket you tried... I  use the XS on RRL sweaters, sweatshirts and shirts,S on t-shirts... do you think I need the XS or S size for this jacket?... I called Ralph Lauren to ask for the measures: XS (armpit to armpit 18", shoulders 17,5") and the S (armpit to armpit 20", shoulders 18")...i dont know what to do...I need advise....Thanks

So it must have been just that particular work shirt and not their work shirts in general.

 

Capitalism and $upply & Demand are hallmarks of the US economy while generalizations about a group are usually just uniformed opinion. Maybe your just a Communist...anyway.

P.S.Sans the bitching and name calling but thru positive posts on SF and polite discourse via PM with a few re-sellers I able to score several very sweet deals on a few items that originally slipped my grasp. Thnaks to those re-sellers....you know who you are!
