Another caveat are the item descriptions. I will give some examples:

1. Denim Boss Chino pants- these were described as made in the US. They're made in China.

2. Rigid Officer Chinos- weight was stated as 11. something. They're 9. something.

3. Current black Murdock boots. they're described as "Fully lined in premium cowhide." At least one batch is not fully lined, as long as that would mean that the shaft is lined which it isn't.

4. The polka dot workshirt was described as rigid. While it's not fully distressed, it's definitely not rigid, but has been washed lightly.

The products are all fine still. And of course one could exchange. That's what RL customer service replied to me.

But still highly annoying that you cannot rely on the descriptions.

I recently ordered the check cardigan (forgot the exact name) and I was disappointed on arrival to find they didn't have those knot style leather buttons pictured on the site but regular looking flat brown buttons. Still kept it though.

I noticed this often more recently. They have been careless with their descriptions and images, not representing the actual product.

C'mon RL... when are you gonna hire me... I'm waiting.... ; )

I don't get what you're saying but you know the answer to your own question.

RRL holiday will go on sale on the 11th. Not idea of the percentage. I will know more on Friday. Those gambler jackets will most likely go fast.

Thanks,

Robert

Do most of the RRL button-down shirts fit the same? I recently bought a workshirt (http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13249158) in my normal size (M) and had to return it because the was way too boxy in the waist. Shoulders were fine so going down to a small wouldn't work.

I just received my RRL A-2.

It fits indeed rather small. Shoulders and chest are okay, though. But the sleeves are quite short. The wool cuffs barely go to my wrists.

I guess, that's historically correct though.

Also, it's still a bit stiff. Over time with the jacket becoming softer, it might be better.
Any opinions/experiences?

I sent mine back (sadly) mostly because of the sleeves and shoulders. I cannot stand to drive with my cuffs up around my forearms. I doubt the sleeves would get any longer after breakin.

No, they vary quite a bit across styles and even colors in some cases. Or at least that's been my experience.

Sleeves certainly won't get longer, but jacket will get softer softer. What are ur measurements and what size did u get? Fit pics perhaps?

I got the A-2 in L.

I normally need around 19 inches shoulder to shoulder, around 22 pit to pit and 26 inches in the sleeves.

Like with Robear the shoulders are a bit tight and the sleeves a bit short. If either had been a bit more generous, it would have worked.

Not sure if the XL will be better.

Thing is, I'm in Europe, so sending back will be difficult. I'll get in touch with them, though. They still have it full priced on the European site and L is actually missing. So it might be of interest to them. And the jacket is still brand new.

Will try to take some pics tomorrow.

I have a RL giftcard that I want to get rid of.. It's $1,113.97. I'll let it go to you guys for $1,013.97.

That's $100 Free money if you're planning to make purchases in the upcoming sale.

What're the chances of me finding the Officer Chinos on sale? After Christmas maybe?
