I dont think so... I would probably go for the longer length and see how it shrinks, and then hem them according to your preference. Since there is no chainstitch on the hems, you wouldn't lose much and will get the perfect length.

SO.... does anyone think i should size down on the RRL CHINOS?!?!?! Afraid the leg might be too slim and look topheavy.

Does anyone watch the US version of Shameless?

Waist looks all right, but I would have had it tapered below the knee if I were you.

I checked all sizing info on the rigid officers chinos, but am still unsure.

The thing is I have some slim pants that fit very well in the waist but are tight in the thighs.

I need more than 12 inches in the thighs, for the waist I'm around 33.

So which size should I go for? 32, 33 or 34?

I've got some RRL chinos like the ticking stripe and canvas in 34 and they fit very well, a bit wide in the waist, but very good with a belt, and the thighs are good, neither too wide nor too tight.

Ordered a pair of the black on black's yesterday. Robert from the Chicago store was a big help. Getting a pair of the slim rigid's tomorrow.

interested in the rigid officer.  AFAIK for a 12" thigh you need to go 33" or 34" waist otherwise you are risking them being to tight.

what i am interested in is the inseam.

how large are the 'natural' hem seam turn up? they look a little over an inch?

how much does the inseam shrink, and how much does in measure to start with.

i tend to like a 30" (perhaps a fraction less) inseam.  if the 32" inseam is actually 31.5" then i really need to go with the 34",

but ..... how does the material deal with a 3 or 4 times cuff? i looks like it might be ok, and not too chunky like a heavy denim can be.

if any of the recent purchasers of the current rigid officer chino bought any of the following sizes, it would be great to get blueingreen method measurements for waist, thigh knee, inseam & hem

the sizes i am interested in are 32W - 33W - 34W in both 32" and 34" inseam.  i would tend to sway towards 33W.34L

sadly my pair of selvedge chinos didn't work out frown.gif

but new pair of rrl slims going strong. im surprised at how heavy and thick wearing the fabric is for the weight.

1. The turn up is about 1.5"

2. Measurements of the pants in size 33x34:
- Waist: measured 35" across, but that's after one month of wear and stretch, but i took in about 1.25" at the tailor. Post wash, the shrunk 1" in the waist.
- Thigh: 12.5" Across the thigh. no change post wash
- Inseam measures 33" now. I did not measure them pre-wash, but assuming 34" tagged was correct, then they shrunk by 1". My judgement in length would say that's about right.

3: My actual body measurements:
- My waist measures 36" when going around with the tape measure
- My legs measure 22.3" with the tape measure, and you can see my fit pit above.

4. My fit pics (pre-wash):
- I like the slim but relaxed leg
- waist is SLIGHTLY loose on my now, after stretch (probably another 1" taken in should do the trick - in total that would make it 2.25" of tailoring)

Indigoeagle, I would recommend you go to a size 33 on this, and you might even need to tailor down the waist. I am considering tailoring down the waist another 1".

I have 33 in low straights, took 32 in the pair I picked up today. Thighs as tight as can be but I'm fat right now, measures about 11.75 BiG style. Deadstock indigo boss chinos are sized exactly the same, they are made in China though unfortunately. Can't believe I spent $440 on two pairs of Chinese made pants. Made well but still

Also Ari Gold do you have the twill non selvage ones from this fall? Color looks like those vs the actual officer chinos

Hey Stevent, Mine are definitely the Twill Officer Chinos and are redline selvage. Part of the reason they look a bit darker is because I am indoors. If i get some outdoors pics it'll probably show it better. The website makes it look lighter than they really are though!
