Was hoping some kind peoples could give some advice.

I popped into the RL store yesterday to check out some chinos and lo and hebold they had one pair of RRL denim that had been returned. They were the slim fit rigids, in 34x32. I fell in love with them.

The fit was nice, but the 34 seemed more than just the normal vanity sized. I took them off and asked for a tape measure. When I measured them, they measured 36.

When I asked the 2 sales people if the denim was sanforized, they looked at me a bit odd.

Did some reading of this thread and it seems that the denim is indeed sanforized so I shouldn't expect any stretch.

My true waist is a 35, so I'm thinking of ordering the 33, which I would expect to be a 35 measured. Or would anyone recommend a 32, which I would guess to be a 34, and possibly stretch out to a 35?

Do these stretch?

Would appreciate any advice from those who know. Thank you.

I believe from what i have read from this thread and other RRL threads elsewhere on the web is that they stretch quite abit along the waist. Sizing is all over the place. Since you got to try them, i would say go by the fit. In your case, i would recommend getting them slightly tight to compensate for the stretching once you start wearing them. A belt would help to keep them from stretching out too much.

As for the others, is it true that the slim fit rigids would stretch out on the thigh after wear? My waist fits perfect, but the thigh area feels skintight.

Sazon, I have straight fit and low straight in my true waist size. The straights stretched a bit and I have not worn the low straights enough to comment. However, my straights are rigid and my low straights are some other tint that is not raw. Perhaps the finish makes a difference in how they stretch.

Onijo, as far as the thigh measurements, I do not know dimensions on the slim fits. I took measurements of the straights and low straights, size 32 and they both measure 11 inches seam to seam. I have a tough time getting denim to fit well so I get a bit crazy about this stuff. Hope that helps

How did the 34 fit elsewhere? Watch the thigh, if you size down they might be too tight. And the thighs don't stretch all that much, at least not enough to be noticeable for me. If I sized from a 34 to a 33 on the slim fits the waist would be perfect but I'd have a hard time pulling them up. I always need a belt with rrl jeans, that's just the way it is.

I can't seem to get any of the RRL pants to fit properly. I have sent back every pair I have purchased. Either way to big in the waist to fit thighs or to snug in the crotch when they fit the thighs....ok when standing but very uncomfortable when sitting. I am a true 34 and wish they made a 35 like Polo so I could have them taken in since 36 would require to much alteration everywhere. 

Have you tried the straight fits (not low straight, just "regular" straight)? Those are the only ones that will not have either tight thighs or really low rise. If you have tried those, then it is hopeless for this brand for you...

+1. I don't think anyone has had success in stretching the thighs.

Yes...just not in the regulation chinos...which maybe my last chance since I thought the 33 were fine until I sat down in them. Funny thing is in RRL shorts I wear a 32 and they are still a little lose in the waist and super comfy.

Ah, that sucks.

Looks like i have to stick with W+H skinnies/slim fits.

My straights get the least wear of any jeans I own. The rise is too high for me to be comfortable to wear all day. Just my opinion

Thank you. The thigh had a lot of material, as did the seat. Even the sales rep said the seat looked like there was too much material. I think I will order the 32s and 33s and try them since now I know not to expect any shrinkage.

Guys, for the officer chinos are the icon core colors just new british khaki and polo black? I've seen some sites mention ghurka as well, or is that the same as nbk?
