Just order it before your size runs out, and in the meanwhile you can think about returning it to your store later. If you get free shipping there's nothing to lose.

That's never happened to me, but more often than not, I'll receive a package before, or hours after, RL sends me the shipping confirmation.
That's very surprizing to me. I have seen when only 1 or 2 or 3 is left in stock that amount is all that allowed for total in the drop down box. I have also seen after ordering one of such said items that upon refresh that item disappears from website.
Guess I always assumed because of this RL had realtime tracking of merch.
Sorry to hear this has happened guys and I hope this doesn't happen to an order of mine.
They generally have good inventory tracking info. What I think happened in this case is we both had it in the cart and checked out at the same time. It takes a minute for the website to refresh, so it's possible if two people put the same items in the cart at the same time and checkout at the same time it will let both orders go through but then the next business day when warehouse person checks the inventory they have to send some people the bad news. I guessed they would first try to contact a few stores for a proxy ship before giving people refunds but I guessed wrong. It is also pretty unlikely 2 people would be buying the same model in the same size at the same time, so you gotta cut RL some slack. I know when a lot of people jump on a product on any website (amazon, best buy, yoox) this can happen anywhere.
As far as tracking my last order also didn't give me tracking info until after it was delivered. Weird.
