Though most here are against black shoes, I've got my heart set on a pair of JL City II in black suede. I've got other black shoes and bunches of JLs those black suede gave me a woodie.

I am not one of those people who are opposed to black brogues, but why black scotchgrain? It sounds almost like a performative contradiction. Edit: actually, no. Something my father wore from time to time just came back to my memory: black scotchgrain full brogues, charcoal flannel trousers, grey herringbone tweed coat. It worked for him.

Any of those deadstock longwings in my size? I mean 3 pairs... Doc, I could perhaps alleviate the guilt!

I was hoping to get those tobacco suede half-brogues from TRL, but I guess the whole deal fell apart. So, now I'm eyeballing the C&J Westfield.

Fwiw, salsalocust has a pair of these for sale every so often. You might want to send him a pm.

As for me, I'd like a pair of black EG Lichfield without medallion on the 888.

The funny thing is, I'd been looking for a while, so I paid a substantial premium for the first pair. Then the second pair showed up only a few days later at a steal of a price. Then a third pair showed up in a different color!

I have been debating selling the first pair, but part of me thinks I'll keep it and be set for longwings for life.

Doc, is one of them a pair of NOS Nettleton longwings in 9D? The closest I ever got to a pair was last year: an ebay seller out of Plattsburgh had a pair listed and I was dead set on sniping it. My browser froze at work in the last seconds so I never got my bid in and the shoes went to a buyer in Japan for about $100. It remains `the one that got away`. Look forward to your pics!

Unless you want a 4th pair, mind sharing your source?

C&J Have a 'newish' handgrade, Tasseled Loafer that looks the 'Dog's'. I'm just trying to justify the £450 price tag.

Waiting for July to roll around so I can take possession of a pair of Lobb Cavendish. They said it would be mid to late July.

Got some AE Byrons I'm looking at. Not really sold on the chili color, but I could possibly re-dye them.
