Unbelievably sexy.

Is it stating the obvious that maybe they should consider a manual transmission? You know, even if it has a real stick and 3 pedals?

Merc still uses only in house transmissions, and they know very well that the manuals they produce aren't up to the task. The low number of machines they would produce, that would even use a new trans is very small, and just not worth the development cost. I'd wager that most of Merc's clients would still check the auto box option on the order form anyway.

I drove a manual SLK 350 in Cape Town about eight months ago, utter rubbish.

All the more reason to buy a tranmission from another company. They are certainly not using in-house transmissions in their various race cars. They seemed to make the 8 or 9 street CLK-GTRs work without a slushbox.

These high-end Mercedez are about as good as the Civic with 400HP. Sure they put out big numbers, but the engineers have no idea what to do with it. I've read numerous reviews of similar models and they constantly ridicule them for not being good at anything.

For anybody wishing to experience what a dogshyt manual geabox feels like, grab a Saab 9-3.
Alternatively - take a metal bucket, fill it with cobblestones, then proceed to stir them up with a hockey stick

Whew! Form certainly follows function in this case that's for sure. That's a face that could gag a maggot.
